I'm afraid what traininday has said is spot on. You will notice a pattern to it and its not random everyone does the same test. I dont think its to hard at all its just done at the end of a very long draining day, just like driving a train really.
Internals can be asked different questions as we should already know stuff about the company. My DMI took about 3 weeks before I was told the outcome and I received a phone call to book the MMI, think if your unsuccessful they normally email you.
I feel they don't think the answer u have written they will ask for another answer, if you give an answer they think is suitable and you don't give the right response then u could fail. Just think like a train driver. They will ask you to elaborate on your answer if you have missed something or...
I could of been on April course but I need a replacement for my current job first so have to wait for next course. They do tell you there and then if I pass but I'm internal so don't know if hat makes a difference. I have not heard anything from HR since the medical so not sure what's happening...
They give u a sheet of paper with questions on and u write an answer they read them as your explaining your answer, so if they don't think answer is good enough they just say can u give a more suitable answer
That's exactly what I did, they then ask how u felt driving alone, how you kept focused and kept your concentration up. When u answer just think of when you did your drive that you were in a train cab, what u would see and look for. I used things like hazards, weather, signs, road signals...
Don't think there are actually any keywords, they will just want to see how you respond to certain situations. You will give an answer and they will ask how you did it, how you felt, how you would react if something else happened. The question about job similar to a train driver was a difficult...
Does anyone know or been told when the next southern trainee course starts. I was told they would like me on the April course but wondered what date this would be. I have to be relaxed in current job so would love to know the dates.
They will ask u the same questions although they may change them slightly as u should know more about them as you already work for them. I had mine a few weeks ago and they are the standard questions no matter who u are.
Took 3 weeks for an answer for my DMI and then went and had my MMI and was told within an hour that I had passed. With southern at Croydon so though the process would be the same
