    Extending the XC franchise

The HST's to and from Swansea useally started / finished at Newcastle. I think SOME may have went via the West Coast to Glasgow / Edinbrugh. I remember the days (dispite only beging a kid them) when you could get a train from Glasgow - Edinburgh to Bournemouth - Plymouth - Penzance. There...

    HUGE New Street collection

New Street is my favourite station, i've been there twice this week just to take photo's. It'll be a shame when they start to pull it to pieces (just to put it back together again!). How did you get the pics of the trains going through the junction? I searched all over for a place to look at...

Well i think the best livery of all time was back in 1995 i think, and yeah am going back a bit here, best livery was the Northern Spirit Transpennine Express class 158's. As seen here http://www.therailwaycentre.com/DMU%20photo%20file/158_TransPOrig Its there if the image insert doesn't...

    Best/Worst liveries/station colours

I like the First group Dynamic lights livery on the FTPE, FGW, FCC, not conviced with the Scotland rail colours or whatever they are calling themselves now ! I really don't like the idea of NXEA idea of putting a white stripe down units that have been in the One livery. Like on the 315's but...

    FGW full timetable book

Do Crosscontry or Virgin trains do one? I never knew these existed. I used to have the huge National rail timetable ("the bible") from WHSmiths priced at £12-£14 depending on the year but i don't get this anymore.

Head of NR Annonces he won`t accept his bonus

The ideal thing to do with people like managers is to cut there pay. The country is in a bad enough state as it is without managers getting 3 figure salarys just to go in meetings all day and come out of them again having agreed nothing. The guy probably works less hours than any of us on...

    180 at Darlo

They MIGHT be route learning or route clearing IN CASE of a FUTURE diversion. So therefore they would need to know if the 180 could get down the route via Dinsdale. It might have just went of down the ECML unless you seen it go around the corner in the Dinsdale direction.

Head of NR Annonces he won`t accept his bonus

Yeah right, wont except his bonus. What a load of rubbish ! Publicity stunt !

    180 at Darlo

Grand Central are testing a 180. No idea why it was at Darlington as GC don't go to Darlo. Maybe its one of there diversion routes if Northallerton - Yarm is closed. Goes up to Darlo and reverse.

    A London Question

How about catching a Voyager to Basingstoke then a SWT into Waterloo. Or Voyager or FGW HST to Reading, a 165 to Guildford then into London that way. At least then you wouldn't be going North just to go South if you know what i mean.

Which Train Simulator do you have?

I'm using MSTS and BVE 2. www.bvestation.co.uk is great for the New York subway downloads. Some really interesting routes on there. The A - C trains are my favourite. Especially the A express non stop 125th Street - 59th Colly circle.

    xcountry super voyager/voyager seating plans

I've got a leaflet produced by VXC for the voyager seating plans in front of me now. I can scan for you and e-mail it if that is any help. The leaflet gives details of luggage areas, priority seats, limited / no view seats, power point seat, wheelchair spaces, shop, toilets, and coach formation.

    Who would have through that.....

Well said Great Eastern passenger. I agree with you on that, i'd much rather have a seat that have to stand. Didn't NXEC put some kind of bench type seat (like in SET 376's) in the carriges on the Norwich services. Can't remember if they are mk2 or mk3. I think they put them in for the...
