About 18 months ago I had the displeasure of GA failing to provide any rail replacement transport from Wymondham station (which is unstaffed) to get me to either Cambridge or Norwich for a journey to London Liverpool Street. To add insult to injury my ticket was even booked and paid for in...
Would Norwich station be an example of a station with an area for travellers only but no Compulsory Ticket Area (CTA)? I asked Greater Anglia which stations had CTAs but they simply sent me a leaflet which detailed penalty fare trains and stations but did not mention any CTAs at all.
I would like to know why it is that some Train Operating Companies take such a lax stance on revenue protection that it can actually be cheaper to fare evade then to buy tickets for regular journeys. For the record, I am not actually condoning such behaviour.
I would like to travel from Wymondham (WMD) to Lowestoft (LWT) and return the same day via Norwich (NRW) and Ipswich (IPS). This will involve travelling from WMD to NRW, NRW to IPS and then IPS to LWT. On the way back, I will get a train from LWT to IPS, IPS to NRW and NRW to WMD.
I would like to know if the National Rail Journey Planner is always accurate or not, with the exception of issues involving journeys where one or more legs have to be done by rail replacement bus which I am already aware of.
I would like to know what I, as a layman, should do on a train in the event of a fire. I am aware that some older coaching stock have passcoms which immediately slam on the break as opposed to newer ones which can be overridden by the driver. Therefore what should I do in the following...
I would like to know why it is a permitted route to travel (according to the NRE Journey Planner) from Wymondham to Cambridge whilst double-backing via Norwich on the way? Does anyone know if a break of journey is permitted whilst doing this on an off peak ticket or not?
I would like to travel from Wymondham (WMD) to Cambridge (CBG) via Stowmarket (SMK). As I have to change trains at Norwich station (NRW) on the way would I be able to break my journey there? If not then would I at least be able to get the staff to let me through the barriers so I can use the...
If I purchase a ticket from Wymondham to London Terminals (Via Norwich) does this also allow me to travel via Cambridge without having to pointlessly double back at Norwich? If not then is the only alternative to buy either a return or two singles between Wymondham and Norwich and then buy a...
Firstly I will stress that this is a fictional scenario and not a request for advice, legal or otherwise.
I board a train at an unstaffed station with a sign permitting journeys to be started without a ticket e.g. Wymondham (WMD) to another station which is staffed e.g. Norwich (NRW) where I...
Is it acceptable for passengers to block a doorway with luggage or bicycles etc and for the train to depart in spite of this? The way I see it this is clearly banned by the conditions of carriage so should not be permitted to occur.
This is an extract from a parliamentary debate on the Criminal Justice System and how adults on the Autistic spectrum are dealt with when they come into contact with it. It appears to reveal a worrying abuse of power on the part of Norwich Crown Court.

Do you still need as many platform dispatch staff if you have CD/RA indicators installed at a station which didn't previously have them? Do you actually need more staff or can you actually cut staff in that scenario?
My belief up until now is that you actually need more staff to operate these...
At my local station, Wymondham (WMD) a ticket vending machine was recently installed but only accepts card payments. I wish to travel to another station between either Wymondham and Norwich or between Wymondham and Ely but have no cash so will have to pay by card. As it is a paytrain service a...
Hello, I would like to know when it is safer to self-evacuate a train than to remain on board when there is no guard or driver available to ask for permission following a derailment or collision? By that I mean a scenario which has left the driver incapacitated and the guard is either...
Hello, I would like to know why a lot of trains are cancelled after a fatality and run ECS instead of in passenger service even after the body is removed? Whilst I can understand the actual train involved (along with any unit coupled to it) being cancelled and run ECS, I think that running a...
