This is 730211. It had been parked at Camden C.S.D. for several weeks on the track closest to the wall. I'm guessing that's when the graffiti appeared, although it could have been earlier. It moved to Rugby on 16/7/25. There's still one left at Camden so I wonder whether that's been vandalised too.

It used to be quite common to provide "relief" trains when services were busy, especially during the Summer. These used to run about 10 minutes ahead of the advertised service. Perhaps 1S00 is a relief for 1S48. It leaves Euston 27 minutes ahead but gets overtaken by 1S48 at Carlisle, arriving...

Are you sure it was a Turbostar or could it have been a Scotrail EMU? 320417 had been at Wolverton Works and returned to Scotland on Saturday. It passed through Lancaster at 12:25 on Saturday.

It looks like 730233 + 730234 are currently on the way from Bletchley to Crewe (empty) as 5U30. Could this be in preparation for them starting on the Liverpool services later this week, or even the EUS-CRE services? Both of these units have already been in passenger service in the London area.

No 730/2s ran yesterday, as far as I know but there's one pair out today. Just awaiting confirmation of which ones (see last post).

Yes. But 213 was temporarily paired with 220 for 3 days during the first 2 weeks. Also 213+233 only ran in service together once - on the first day (9/6/25). This is the only time 233 has run in service but has had a few test runs since then, including the breakdown on 20/6, previously...
