Hi everyone. Just a quick question about which train station has the most variety of Train Operating Companies passing through (stopping or non-stopping)? So far, Peterborough is the most I've found. Is this true, or is there another one?
Peterborough has
CrossCountry
EMR
Great Northern
LNER...
I've been hearing these words all over the place, and it seems all of them are the same thing to me. What actually is the difference between these 3 different approaches?
If the Williams Review is accepted and this centralised rail authority is created, how would the operators names be shown on the logos or livery of the trains? Would it be similar to TfL, where there is one name for the entire system although operated by different businesses? Or would it just...
I don't really understand centralising the railways. Would it be similar to what they are doing now with the TOCs (management fees, taking on the losses), or would it be similar to British Rail. or would the government just control the fares and timetables and nothing else and First or Abelio...
I did a bit of redesigning of the Southeastern logo. It certainly isn't the best work I've ever done, but it was just a quite concept, I've attached two ideas I had::
I think the only issue with the GTR logos it the consistency between their brands. ThamesLink, Great Northern and Southern have totally different logos. It might be better to just pick a design and go with that across their whole family.
Southeastern might be a fun one to redesign, I'll take a...
Totally agree with both those points. The c2c font looks terrible, and NI Railways logo just is bad, the entire thing. The font and the colour just looks terrible. I think Translink just needs a rebrand and that will translate to NI Railways.
Northamptonshire have been terrible with rail travel in recent years with only six stations in total. Weedon Station being reopened would make a lot of sense, even if only LNWR stopped there. What do you all think?
Designers out there, which railway franchise logos do you think are the worst? And why? What would you do to make them look better, or even more modern?
I'm gonna be posting my rebrand of the Govia Thameslink Railway family tomorrow, so feel free to post your own rebrands too!
Does anyone know of a mobile app or website which you can track certain fleet numbers along their journey? I'd except there is something out there that would do just that.
We are aware of an issue with emails from the Forum to Microsoft-based email accounts (hotmail/outlook/live.com email addresses). This is being looked into currently, thanks for your patience meanwhile.
