It's whatever you want it to be... But with managers,LOMS,briefers etc all working and visiting, do you want to be seen in trousers and a shirt, or jeans, t-shirt and trainers? This is the mentality I had, and turning up in shirt and trousers each day was no hardship for me

Not so much hiring manager! Earlier this year, my old hiring manager had interviewed and offered job to an applicant... HR hadn't even sent out emails to unsuccessful candidates, until the successful candidate had ready started. I feel HR have no speed or priority... Not saying hiring manager is...

They wouldn't advertise them if they didn't need them. Just patience is required... You'll laugh about all this once you get the job.

The formal offer can take weeks to come through. My first one did... I was told by LOM on 3rd December and formal offer came through mid January! The job is yours so be patient lol. As regards to holiday... If you declared it at interview then I suppose they have to honour it, but any leave...

I was in the last group to be called in for test, at Reading network rail offices, in 2016! Seems strange that they have started them up again. I'm guessing this is the 1st group of people doing it, so until they've done it - we won't know what it is. To those doing it, if it's anything like...

My roster clerk is very good at her job. I don't mind doing favours for her, as I know she will help me out, as and when I need her

You know what days you are working as a relief, but not what shift. So you can check to see if you're scheduled to work that day , years in advance... But if you are it could be early, late or night. If you are down to work, just book it off as holiday, or if you're really nice to your roster...

I work TCB with levers and also has bells. Only touched on AB rules while in signalling school.

I learned TCB on an NX panel, then straight into box with levers. No special training or courses

And majority of jobs on internal board are for internal candidates only. So you stand a better chance of getting it, as opposed to an external candidate as they can't even see the internal job list
