In past 3 weeks I have been on peak Northern services between Lancaster and Manchester as part of a longer trip. On the 3 trips where I had seat reservations none were visible and impossible to get a seat.
it seems to be the norm for none to be in place. if they don't intend putting out the...
I bought split ticket Manchester to Lancaster and a separate Lancaster to Glasgow.
Manchester 17:42 arrive Lancaster 19:02 (Actual 19:10)
Lancaster Dep 19:30 (Actual 20:15) Expected to arrive Glasgow about 45 mins late. (Still on train)
Am I entitled to the cost of the complete Journey or just...
Looks like up lowlander terminating Milton Keynes but the Up Highlander has terminated at Preston and train ecs back to Polmadie. Balancing stock for tonight to get up north but I would not be happy getting chucked off at 4: 30am in Preston
I had split tickets including advances for a journey from watford to Glasgow. Made an error and missed the train which was the last that could get he that night. London midland ticket let me off without buying ticket as far as crewe. Then waited few hours in hope i could get the highland sleeper...
The early 0428 service ran ok . This runs via Holytown and avoids Motherwell as a diversionary route. Can't believe paths would be an issue on the early services
The ticket is booked via Trainline (Business) so definitely legit. My Company mandates we make all bookings via them and they settle the costs centrally.
I have previously seen large discounts which gave a price of about £130 for First class single (About the same as a Standard Off Peak...
One error with the info I gave
The original price is shown as £244.50 and states
Only valid on booked Virgin Trains services.
Flexible ticket with no time restrictions on when you can travel.
And the discount is a lot lot more than 25 %
Via my work I can get a special ticket at a good price (Cant disclose) It is a First Anytime Single (Virgin Trains Only) from Glasgow to London Euston. Ticket states
TICKET TYPE - ANYTIME
DESCRIPTION. - Flexible ticket with no time restrictions on when you can travel.
VALIDITY. - Your...
Did this once on a sunday traveling from Oban to Mallaig. Changing at Crianlarich would give me a 40minute change.
I decuded to change at Tyndrum and have a walk and go to the Green Welly shop with an extra 35 mins.
It is easy from Lower Tyndrum to the vilage but definitely a hike to the...
No 150s in Scotland but plenty of 156/158s
156 will do Glasgow to Mallaig over 5 hours or Glasgow to Newcastle via Dumfries.
158 will cover Glasgow or Edinburgh up to Aberdeen or Inverness ans also routes north of Inverness.
Long runs
Can anyone advise what the 1st class lounge facilities contain in Glasgow.
I am curious as I have a ticket and wonder if it is worth turning up a little early instead of my usual last minute rush
Been on the brilliant tour and this was mentioned. I believe access is relatively easy to join to the working line at one end however on the other side there are foundations of the Westergate building which I think are on the trackbed so reopening for full use is not easily achievable
My planned journey is Finchley central underground on Northern line to Euston.
Then on Virgin - Euston to Glasgow advance ticket. It is an early train so cant build to much buffer time to arrive at Euston earlier
