Well it needs something sorted as service is us usable in my view. My daughter lives 5 minutes from one of the stations but interchange times are shocking. I am visiting and then travelling to Birmingham for a day trip. Have to be collected at Chester as interchange times mean a 40 minute wait...

The units will probably last 40 years + however as new units become more reliable it will actually be cheaper to buy more modern units earlier instead of heavy maintenance

I don't see any conditions. It looks the exact same as First Open Single but at a reduced cost. i am in Glasgow so unlikely to use it but I have many colleagues in Preston who are paying significant cost for a less flexible ticket without the benefits of 1st Class

I noticed that when buying a single journey ticket that it states it will take 4 hours before it will be available. Is this correct. I only travel occasionally by train and wanted to buy on way to station. No good if it takes 4 hours to appear....

Apologies. Colleague thought it was LNER as he had seen a note in the scot rail FAQ. This was Virgin staff at the platform for the 16:40 Virgin train

Strange thing is that it was not even an LNER train. The Virgin people staff the platform which typically include Virgin, Cross country and even TPE. My colleague (New member of staff in their first job after Uni) so they don't want to break rules or have to argue every day.
