We got a cup of weak coffee (not the Starbucks standard you pay for) and a piece of cake (prepacked, processed type) on XC to Manchester and that seemed begrudgingly! TPE from Manchester to Scarborough-nothing at all. Not even a trolley in sight. A coffee would have been good on the 2.5 hour...

I am going to have space to build an OO gauge layout in an area at least 10ft by 6ft. Can anyone recommend books or websites that have plans to build please? Want at least two main line circuits, a branchline (elevated), a main line station and possibly a small depot..... Ideas all welcome :)

Other half and I booked First Class - Stafford to Manchester (XC), Manchester to Scarborough (TPE). Out on a Saturday, return Sunday. What drinks/refreshments will we get on both legs? Just wondering whether to buy coffee and bacon sarnie to take on board?! Any info gratefully received.

Very reluctantly it was. Being a charity event, a small loss or break even won't do. There is already a lot of interest for the Festive Edinburgh trip...... The charity is comitted to make it work and is reviewing its marketing strategy to take the venture forwards.
