West highland line rolling stock solution (short term)

The line doesn't make money it actually loses money hand over fist, so it won't get custom stock. Personally the heating issue is usually resolved by around noon I suspect the issue is that the train than overnights in Oban and mallaig are frozen due to the weather and exposed nature of the...

Reguarding HST failure see here https://www.railforums.co.uk/threads/scotrail-hst-alternatives.244302/ And yes they do fare better in landslips etc as they have been hit multiple times with minimum injury to passengers or staff.

West highland line rolling stock solution (short term)

HST's won't work on the line unless you want a ton of shunting at Crianlarich , and with how unreliable the HSTs are and the questions around there safety with land slips running then regularly thought areas like Falls of Cruachan are all diasters waiting to happen , I use the Oban train 8 or 9...

West highland line rolling stock solution (short term)

Issue with HST would be the splitting/joining of the train at cairnlarnic for Oban and Mallaig. HSTs would require a lot of additional shunting unless the HST can be run with an engine at one end and DVT or similar

Now if it started on Garscube RD or ST George's cross that would have added 6 pubs to the route , was there another large employer in the area that accounted for...
