Are 67s still doing Manchester to Holyhead?

Indeed. Also as the E Port service in the morning is a convenient time, passengers from Chester may use Helsby to interchange from the 0712 TFW service and the same of an evening linking the 1707 from Vic with the TFW service that leaves Picc at 1715.

Are 67s still doing Manchester to Holyhead?

The peak services all stop at Helsby. Three in the morning and two in the evening. The 1707 from Victoria skips to WBQ then all stations to Ellesmere Port.

Are 67s still doing Manchester to Holyhead?

The peak time Northern services from Victoria at 1707 appears not to be stopping at NLW. Bonus for us WBQ to Ellesmere Port passengers who may get a seat.

Can you join two trains together with passengers?

I've been on a Virgin Voyager at Crewe that has been coupled up to another whilst passengers were on board. They just shut all the doors to prevent anyone boarding or alighting and got on with it.

    Northern timetable changes May 2019

Yes, the Ellesmere Port service falls just right for a commute. Strange it doesn't call at Frodsham and Runcorn East though. Great that a peak service is provided whilst the rest of the day is semi express. Winners all round.

However absolutely perfect for a Helsby to Victoria commute both ways. Delighted.

    Northern timetable changes May 2019

Well there has been and indeed continues to be extensive route knowledge training on both Chester to Earlestown and Chester to Lime Street so perhaps both could well happen.

Good to hear. Hopefully the Chester to Leeds service will make the May timetable.

Numerous runs from Chester to Earlestown on RTT today. Could these be route knowledge training for Chester to Leeds?

    Halton Curve upgrade is on

It is a Class 150 on the route learning runs today. The Liverpool Echo is reporting that a review is taking place that could result in Ditton Station being reopened. https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/news/liverpool-news/disused-railway-station-near-mersey-15903651

    TFW Chester to Liverpool

With the new TFW service from Chester to Liverpool (hopefully) starting in May, our local Facebook page has posts querying the likely cost of tickets. Would anyone know how soon before a new service starts do the ticket prices get issued please?

    Pacers at Manchester Piccadilly

To obtain the full Pacer experience it's best to wait until it's raining so you can enjoy the raindrops running inside the window and down your leg, certainly if you are over 6ft in height and your having to sit with your knees splayed and hard up against the side of the carriage.

Looks to be several runs from Chester to Lime Street and return this week.

    Northern timetable changes May 2019

There were also three peak time stops at Helsby, Frodsham and Runcorn East with one service starting and terminating at Ellesmere Port. It will be interesting to see if these are still on.

    Successes to Cheer Us Up

Halton Curve being completed on time and in budget by Network Rail, tempered slightly by TfW failure to run the new service as planned.

    May 2019 timetable changes

Interestingly Merseyrail are looking to trial their new battery trains down to Helsby in 2020 which could, if trials are successful, make Helsby a Merseyrail terminus.

    May 2019 timetable changes

The new TFW services from Wrexham/Chester to Liverpool are showing on RTT. Perhaps this time TFW will have some rolling stock to run them.

TransPennine Express North Route, New Timetable

Would there be any mileage in terminating the North Wales services not going on to the Airport at Vic instead of Picc?

Why we shouldn't electrify more of the UK

Pretty sure I have read somewhere that Merseyrail may be trialling this soon (2019/20?) between Ellesmere Port and Helsby.
