Semi-major; signals are being repositioned in Leeds' area of control between Leeds & York. Some of the resignalling work is why some of the OLE between Church Fenton & Micklefield isn't complete yet, by the by (owing to signal sighting issues with the legacy equipment).
Is the Lowlander normally pathed via Northampton? My guess is that it isn't, but was VAR'd in, likely due to works via Weedon which were either cancelled or finished early, thereby allowing the Lowlander to take that route.
If that's fed from Weaver Jn, it'll be coming off the same TNO supply point (Frodsham). I'd expect an "extension lead" to be run along track on the WCML, through WBQ and then up to the CLC tracks, if I were a betting man.
Worth mentioning on here that SFCs (Static Frequency Converters) and AT (autotransformer) feeding aren't mutually exclusive by design, as this post from LinkedIn about Rail Baltica shows...
Cables have indeed been laid between Nene & Bretton. The new Bretton has actually gone live, but the work to connect the new Nene feed to it hasn't concluded yet.
For all I mentioned in my previous post, most of the Phase 1 TSCs/FSs have been replaced, with the old buildings...
AFAIK, most of the old sites in Phase 2 haven't yet been removed, along with some from Phase 1.
Phase 1 (legacy buildings outstanding):
Wood Green FS
Welwyn 'A' FS - still feeding
Langley Jn FS
Little Barford FS - still feeding
Nene FS - still feeding
Bretton FS
Tallington TSC
Bytham FS...
Weirdly enough, I've been CC'd into an email on my works account stating the structures.
Both lines will be LIVE as far west as structure JW/01/15; the Up Poplar from WG/10/10, the Down Poplar from WG/10/12. This area will be controlled by Rugby ECR; the area to be controlled by Didcot seems to...
There are dropper wires attached to be fair; they're the little wires resting atop the strut (roughly where the strut meets the main beam), and will be used at the registration (in this case).
The ECML originally had MkIIIA OLE (since upgraded to Series 2/UKMS from Kings X to Belle Isle/Copenhagen Tunnel), while the MML used MkIIIB. Parts of the MML were of course reworked when St Pancras "went international".
