Audio/visual "next stop" announcements on buses

Even new vehicles place them in badly thought of locations. Nottingham City Transports Ultroliners have a screen above the wheelchair spot that faces most of the passengers. Except, if you’re sat on the same side of the bus as it, you won’t be able to see it at all. Why? Because the backwards...

    Unit Swap Disruption

The same 158 probably worked the return working back to Aberdeen and if the 170 was fixed it in that time it could then have worked the rest of its diagram. Or if not maybe another 170 would be swapped in for the 158 when it got back to Aberdeen.

The 4 and 34 are very unlikely to get new buses. The 90 is single deck so the 26 and ultroliners are quite irrelevant I’d have thought

    Sunderland 700/701 TUPE dispute

I did a search of the names and (personal) TikTok accounts seemed more prominent than any LinkedIn results  One of them had a video of a bus captioned “My new toy!” :|

Class 810 for East Midlands Railway Construction/Introduction Updates

Is this wind noise the high pitched whistling type sound you’d hear if you didn’t realise you had a window slightly open and started driving on the motorway?

    Sunderland 700/701 TUPE dispute

Well now I’m intrigued as to how this crosses over with a bus company  EDIT: Wow the dates of birth of those other ‘directors’ of that company certainly align with that definition..

Perhaps some last minute issues or niggle to get resolved before they announce

Tap on tap off payment on UK provincial (non-TfL) buses

True, but buses have operated broadly the same way for a long time. I’d argue it’s pretty common (maybe even accepted practice) for bus drivers to begin setting their bus up for the next journey between the penultimate and last stop, such as changing blinds or displays, as well as doing the...

    Nottingham City Transport

If I recall correctly it was a mix of omnidekkas and enviro 200s when they tried it last so probably approaching best part of a decade ago now. I think it has also had its frequency cut since then so who knows singles plus every 10 minutes could work. I remember people were sceptical about the...

My initial thoughts for the E12s would be perhaps be for the revised green line services to displace some E10s, or even to do a 48 style conversion on the 10 if 7 would give enough vehicles to increase frequency

Very intriguing. One that caught my eye was the 45(B) terminating at Cardale Road! Also interesting to see that the 58 is still registered from Long Row all these years later!

    Eurostar Priority Seat Question

I’ve often booked and sat in the priority seats and have never had any issues with passengers or staff. The train managers do walk through the train and always seem happy to answer queries or help, but I’ve never had any reason to engage with them myself and they’ve not had to engage with me...

Did the unit work back ECS or stay at Nottingham to be coupled to the next one?

They don’t show on the Nottingham contactless site?

Class 810 for East Midlands Railway Construction/Introduction Updates

Its return working back to St Pancras at 2011cancelled. Unfortunately the previous London train at 1950 was also cancelled (lack of 222s I think - the arrival from London that splits was only 5 car!) so I imagine the 2050 is already pretty cosy

    High-Spec Coaches on Local Services

For one that was at the time booked, Trent Barton used to use coaches on their peak time only commuter xprss which was like a faster version of their rainbow 4 (now i4).

Arrival at Derby from Birmingham "via Leeds"?

And whilst it doesn’t say Birmingham via Leeds, every single ‘via’ point shown in the image is wrong due to the issue the OP describes. EMR should just remove via points from the arrival screen. They probably didn’t think to do it from the start as I’m not sure if any of their own services at...

Another contender could be the 6, which had a PVR increase after the diversion to Gamston to solve the reliability issues it started to experience. Bonus with it passing Trent Bridge depot too
