That doesn’t massively surprise me - NCT prefer to have less than the PVR branded up, and even with all these spare branded E10s you’ll still see route branded ones on the wrong routes some days
I don’t think it is necessarily as simple that. When doing a risk assessment, one of the considerations is how long/often something needs to be done for.
I think I know the section you’re talking about (Newton Avenue and Clumber Drive) - it is very tight but that part of the route was served by full size buses during the Radcliffe line years (Scania Solar) and Optare Excels on the brand before that (Rushcliffe Lines I think?). I’ve done the RV on...
With the Central Trains random unit generator you could have 170s on Robin Hood Line and Matlocks while 156s and 150s were on longer distance workings!
Is it possible that rather than just not liking/ being suited to stop/start work at all, perhaps it’s the days on end consistently doing such...
Have they just fed old script to the text-to-speech system? That seems particularly lazy and is always going to highlight the downsides/difficulties with text-to-speech.
I’ve not used the DLR for a while but I seem to recall some unusual phrasing on there such as the “When leaving the train...
I’m getting the impression that they aren’t taking issue with the reset process itself - more the amount of times they’re having to use it. Things like frequency/likelihood of having to take an action should be properly reflected in any risk assessment, as what is considered acceptable for a...
The 11/12 and Bridgford bus are all Green E10s. But I agree with the base of your logic. The Bridgford bus E10s are decent sized pool already, while the 11 is just on its own, so I’d say it makes more sense for the 12 to join 11s
Normally coach routes tend to be run from one end with anything that goes down to the far end in service also coming back in service. Dead running between Manchester - Birmingham could be eliminated by either doing some coach swaps in Birmingham, or by short workings that start/end in Birmingham
My question wasn’t whether it is worthy of being the UKs premier mainline, but whether it is already considered such, which was stated as a given in the OP.
Is the WCML considered the UKs premier mainline? I think both the ECML and WCML get upgrades and new stock when required. After all the 390s are getting on a bit compared to the Azumas and soon to be 897s!
Lumo is a private open access operator so whether or not there is a strong case (there...
NCT often announce they’re using double deckers on the 90 for certain journeys that line up with football marches or cricket at Trent Bridge. This weekend it was the latter with double deckers on the 90 from Saturday - Monday. Likely that they were a Yutong down somewhere so a Solo SR was...
