Our new ticketing site is now live! Using either this or the original site (both powered by TrainSplit) helps support the running of the forum with every ticket purchase! Find out more and ask any questions/give us feedback in this thread!
In the past I've held 2 together, family and network at the same time, and at another time 2 together and gold card.
Finding the best fare when travelling with an under 5 is a pain as you have to search once with the family Railcard and once without the child.
Ok fair point, I've used the term "fully reserved" to mean every possible reservable seat has been reserved. Given that ticket selling websites almost exclusively sell against an itinerary, at least in the outward direction, this is what matters.
The OP is asking about reservations for a ticket...
Its unlikely that any ticket retailer would choose to issue seats apart from each other unless that was the only option given by the underlying reservations system which is common to all retailers. Trainsplit certainly tries to seat passengers together if this is possible.
Avanti services are...
You need to select the option on the refund form that says:
"I was affected by disruption"
If you do that, it shouldn't ask you for a replacement booking.
The latest policy is apparently:
"If you have a ticket for travel on 21st, 23rd or 25th of June you can use this ticket either on the day before the date on the ticket or through and including the Monday and Tuesday of the following week."
Who is the retailer here? Is it a Trainline powered site?
Neither LNER or trainsplit will offer me this as an e-ticket, which suggests that it isn't enabled for e-ticket in RCS.
It is in third party retailers interests to try to process as many refunds via self service forms as possible since any manual processing is expensive. They're certainty not all intentionally charging admin fees when they shouldn't be. An incorrectly applied fee or refund just ends up in more...
It might be a mistake. I've previously had success in emailing Northern about a flow that only had m-ticket, and they enabled it for e-ticket within a week or so.
Single ticket wholly unused: Refund price paid for the single ticket
Return ticket wholly unused: Refund price paid for the return ticket
Return portion of ticket unused: Refund 50% of price paid for the return ticket
You can't refund only the outward portion of a return.
The Raileasy user on here is an official rep (sorry I don't know how to link).
Are you sure that it is going to cost you more to rebook?
As far as I understand you would need to have had the inbound advance refunded. You would also have needed the Anytime Short Return refunded and replaced...
If I understand correctly, very few rangers/rovers can be fulfilled to TOD which rather limits online retailers. If they could be fulfilled to e-ticket things might be different, who knows.
I'm not sure GA have ever enabled e-ticket for most of their flows? If they were allowed, I'm sure the Raileasy site would offer you e-ticket (as well as ToD).
We are aware of an issue with emails from the Forum to Microsoft-based email accounts (hotmail/outlook/live.com email addresses). This is being looked into currently, thanks for your patience meanwhile.
