Introducing RailUK Tickets - support the forum when booking your rail tickets!

Since the child disabled freedom pass is listed, I wonder whether it’s worth listing the discretionary disabled freedom pass as well? It appears to confer the same benefits as a regular freedom pass, with the exception it does not permit free bus travel outside of London...

RMT strikes re: 4 day week

There seems to be strikes regularly for various reasons. Once these latest rounds are resolved, there will inevitably be more strikes for other railway staff concerning whatever matters they raise. For a lot of people (outside the railway industry), strikes are just par the course now.

Is it right that being able to afford a solicitor seems to improve the chances of avoiding prosecution?

Do we actually know the full details of the freedom pass case? There is a general discussion here about using solicitors and their outcomes but then seemingly an unreasonable amount of focus on one case for which few details have been shared.

    London Buses Discussion

I asked this before and got no response, but does anyone know why Pinner bus stop has not been showing any bus information for many months now (and probably approaching a year)? on the website to report issues, TFL claim it is fixed but it isn’t.

    Air conditioning on London Buses

    That was my understanding too.

    Why I avoid e-tickets

The main problem isn’t the phone as you can simply print the e-ticket. As already stated the problems are firstly poorly trained railway staff and secondly gates with technology that, for whatever reason(s), do not permit all valid tickets.

    Heathrow

Those suggesting to use rail as a transfer between terminals I am curious to know whether they have used it before. The Elizabeth line is a fair long walk to one of the terminals from my memory and that’s just leaving the station and not even reaching platform level. I’ve also had individuals...

    London Buses Discussion

New traffic lights for crossing between the bus and tube station. Not yet operational. 1778918050 Still an issue. I checked a website on TFL (can’t remember which) and it’s claimed it has been fixed. A few people reported it hasn’t but nothing been done thus far. Really silly situation.

    Piccadilly line major disruption 13/05/2026

Can there really be a meaningful typical recovery time? Surely it depends on just far too many factors such as the nature of the signal problem, the time to fix the problem, the location of the drivers etc?

Sadiq Khan says future of Heathrow Express should be ‘reconsidered’ due to Elizabeth line success

If no other services could use the paths, maybe invest in the southern access extension and run Paddington direct to Heathrow to “South” service as a fast regional commuter service instead?

Best (cheapest) way to get to Luton / Stansted / Gatwick using a Freedom Pass?

Thanks for providing the link. i would assume if it’s valid for elderly people then it would be valid for disabled but you are both right to cast doubt over that assumption as it is not made clear.

Best (cheapest) way to get to Luton / Stansted / Gatwick using a Freedom Pass?

Can you provide a source for that. Best I can find is a Facebook post dated 2022 which explicitly excludes boarding at Luton airport, so can’t use the pass on its own to get back. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=4759434150833286&set=a.710569900603690&id=100049520599527 it would be...

Met line - Northwick Park announcement at Neasden

I wonder if it’s a particular train? I was on the semi-fast to Baker Street that arrived at Harrow at about ~0826am. I’ll try to get a recording but it’s normally quite busy so may be tricky.

Met line - Northwick Park announcement at Neasden

It happens regularly on my commute. I am usually on a semi-fast train.

Met line - Northwick Park announcement at Neasden

Why do the southbound met trains constantly announce that the next station is Northwick Park at Neasden?

    South Kensington upgrade going ahead

It is worth pointing out that you can also walk to Gloucester Road station through Imperial College, which is far quieter and also has lifts to the Piccadilly line (but still requires using steps).

Unable to buy London to Reading with freedom pass

Thanks. 1775248018 It was a disabled pass. Ah I see, at least there is a workaround. 1775248045 Didn’t know that was possible, will take a look at that too.

Unable to buy London to Reading with freedom pass

I was searching for tickets on the forum ticket site and got the following error: But Reading is not in a zone. I expected to be able to be able to buy the off peak day single for £11.10 or be shown free Elizabeth line services.
