I applied to two VT jobs at Manchester Piccadilly and heard after about three weeks.
Unfortunatly, did not get invited to the assesment centre on eithier application. I spent ages on the application form!
Hi,
I have applied for the Timetable Planner job in Milton Keynes and was wondering if anyone knew roughly when they get back to you?
Does anyone know roughly people NR are looking for?
Are the jobs likely to be based in the new building that NR is building in MK ready for 2012? (and...
Hello,
Am I able to buy a Greater Manchester evening rail ranger from Fast Ticket Machines and the orange and sliver tall machines (what are they called)?
Also can you buy them before 6:30? I need to catch a train at 6:32.
Thanks
Thanks for that info, shame to hear about lack of IT jobs but I still want to try and work for a TOC anyway.
I have applied for the two jobs at Virgin Trains based at Manchester Piccadilly (Platforms and Ticketing) which will hopefully get in my preferred TOC.
Anyone got any info on their...
Hello,
Just wondered if anybody had some kind of idea of how many external jobs are advertised compared with Internally advertised positions within a TOC?
My ideal job would be an IT position but when I check various websites there only seems to be 2 or 3 entry level jobs in customer service...
Hello,
I was just wondering if anyone has been able to get a job at "Meet the Manager" sessions?
I know they are primarily for customers wanting answers and providing feedback about that particular TOC but would they will be willing to talk to you about employment?
Also, I notice that...
When the Mobitix site went down last time, VT said they were making some improvements and now that it has relaunched, there is no improvement.
Shame to see there are only 3 different daily services that you can buy a ticket on now and each person travelling still has to have a different...
Hello,
I am interested in applying for these graduate schemes but both companies are no longer accepting applications for 2009.
Does anyone know around what month, they start taking applications for the the following year in?
Strange claim from VT on their website "following a succesful trial, we are now working on improving the Mobitix platform"
Given that other TOC's have extended their ticket quota and numerous complaints about tickets not downloading properly, incompatible phones etc, was it really succesfull...
Whenever I seem to get a train from London Euston to Manchester Piccadilly, there ALWAYS seems to be one massive rush from the concourse to the train as soon as the departure board allocates a platform.
I've taken trains from the other major stations to Manchester and there has been nothing...
I am trying to book a trip for a Manchester to Euston return in May but notice that mobitix tickets are only available to book up to 30th April.
Should I wait and see if they allocate tickets for May or just book it now to risk the equivalent value advance ticket going up even more?
I read...
Hi,
I was just wondering if any TOC's use agencies to recruit temporary staff for customer service related (or any other) roles?
Just thinking it could be easier to get in to the industry this way.
Ahh I see.
Well that's the London to Bognor Regis bit sorted. The problem now is that I am waiting for May Virgin Trains Mobile tickets to be available.
Not sure with it being April now that it may seem as though the trial has ended!
Do I gamble on the quota becoming available and paying £2...
Don't understand what you mean by 4 cig days.
The 700 Coastway bus is one idea but I think I will just pay the Daysave ticket price to get some flexibility.
I'm travelling down from Manchester Piccadilly on a Value Advance ticket, so getting a Daysave will mean that I don't have to allocate...
Yes, I am travelling to Butlins for an adult weekend there on 15th May and returning on the 18th.
Just used the April dates to demonstrate that I can't find advance tickets going both ways.
Would group travel bookings be allowed to use up seats that Southern would normally use for advance...
I have used the National Rail website, Southern's website and the trainline and all show the same availability, i.e. only advance tickets being allocated in one direction.
Fares do seem to be available though for all the other advance routes - London to and from Brighton, Portsmouth...
Thanks for that. Which TOC do you work for?
Was going to apply for the Customer Assistant role at Lancaster Station with Virgin Trains but noticed the distance from station condition on the application form :( (I live in Manchester)
I would definitely relocate for a particular role, good to know...
Thanks for the info.
What about if you dont have your own transport, would that cause a problem.
I dont have any need for a car at the moment so would use taxis in the case of any early and late shifts and then learn to drive.
I have noticed that a few adverts say that you need to be within...
........... Yes, I have heard of it.
Forgot to mention that I will be not be returning on the same day.
Seems like a Southern DaySave outward and an advance ticket for the return is probably the best thing to do.
I was hoping someone would reply with some kind of insight as to when Southern...
