When the Mobitix site went down last time, VT said they were making some improvements and now that it has relaunched, there is no improvement.

Shame to see there are only 3 different daily services that you can buy a ticket on now and each person travelling still has to have a different mobile number registered.
Where are the improvements? Have I missed them or aren't there any?

I found out earlier this week that there's a new company about to launch mobile tickets that should be easier to use - and check by train staff. I am sure many TOCs will be very interested and may replace their existing experiments with mobile/e-ticketing.

You'll be able to buy tickets by SMS or over the Internet and receive a 2D barcode - but the code will be timestamped (to stop you seeing revenue staff and then sending the text to pay, rather like the rush of people to touch in on a bendy bus if an inspector gets on!).

There will also be a system in place to ensure that a ticket can only be used the one time.
