    Eastbourne student specials

The HHE stop is presumably to change train crew and to allow a Fast Up service to pass. At GTW, a GatEx is booked to run a few minutes ahead of it, so holding it spaces the trains out. Anyone can use the services and sometimes no student groups actually use them and choose to use the normal...

    Spotters Trespassing

Id say the police educating someone about Railway byelaws, which in turn could prevent a future one under to be a part of their job - certainly something for the BTP, which is their job. Should also add that it might not be clear if they are spotters or not, as they may well be having a look...

    Disruption at Stansted airport (13/3/2015)

Glasgow ended with a large fire and a man on fire. It also followed 2 foiled car bombs in London. Its a bit differently really !!

    Joined up thinking, Easter Blockades.

That and driver availability, probably because Easter Sunday is much like Christmas Day, people dont want to work. You also have the possibility of Thameslink not wanting them bussed to St Albans as it fills their services up - though with it being Easter Sunday, they wouldnt be busy anyway -...

    Joined up thinking, Easter Blockades.

Easter Sunday is a very minimal day for travel due to the fact most things are closed. Travel numbers are very low, so it makes it an ideal day to do work. Watford isnt cut off at all. It only has buses though - to Harrow & Wealdstone to connect to the Bakerloo Line and between Euston and...

Major problems at London Bridge on Tuesday 3rd March

Which would then crush load the platforms due to the amount of people on them. The trains werent there due to disruption and then when the trains did arrive, you have got to get people off them safely. With a platform full of commuters, that wouldnt happen as they would force themselves onto the...

    Jeremy Clarkson & Liverpool

He has stated that the comments were taken out of context and only printed some of what he said. A newspaper trying to be controversial by not telling the full story - oh the surprise !! The media do love a good dig at Clarkson and they do clearly have an agenda against him as he speaks his mind.

    Incident West of Hungerford?

Id imagine that drivers trousers and the cab seat might cleaning after that one !! Could have been incredibly serious - lucky no one is hurt. The lorry driver is going to be getting some words, and more.

Hampden Park Incident (Tuesday 17 February)

Its over-hyped massively, the paper has record of doing this. If anything since the control has gone to Three Bridges, there have been longer gaps between the barriers going down and trains crossing as well. Its a dig at removing the staff/box as well.......despite the fact the same thing could...

Uckfield Line Platforms extended to hold 10 cars...

Probably not, since a car park is currently being built on that site. That and since there currently isnt (and probably wont be for a while) plans to extend South - its pointless it being on the other side of the road. The traffic congestion it would cause would be horrific. Network Rail...

End of an era on the East Coastway line (update: this is now happening in 2015)

It certainly did, massive operation involving a fair few companies, including Stagecoach, Metrobus, London General and Brighton and Hove. The Uckfield line issues did cause buses to be diverted, though it didnt impact replacement services as the buses diverted would have been on standby...

Please say you are actually joking with this post.... Lighten up, you can still be professional and have a laugh/joke you know. The reaction is good and they have got PR out of it. Just for the record, announcements were not altered.

End of an era on the East Coastway line (update: this is now happening in 2015)

Work began as planned this evening. Last trains have now ran under signalling/crossing control from the boxes and it will be operated by Three Bridges as of Monday morning. Unsure when boxes are being demolished, except Hampden Park, which will be gone tomorrow (Saturday).

    Operating incident at Fratton Depot

For the benefit of those that dont have Twitter - ‏ The same user also launched an attack on someone praising FGW for their First Class service this morning - saying that First Class was subsidised by "standing standard class passengers". Id ignore anything they say !!

Stock Shortages on Southern services due to weekend vandalism [9/2/15]

Depots at Horsham and Stewarts Lane were affected, as were units stabled at East Grinstead. Fairly widespread and for something to be organised to deliberately attack Southern seems bizarre. Usually its just 1 or 2 units at 1 depot, but 3 locations many miles apart ?

Greater Anglia Good and Bad Discussion

Just a made up story to try and cause more anger at AGA - simple. That line seems to get more anger and abuse sent to its Twitter account than any other, some people are obsessed with tweeting AGA and moaning (literally EVERY tweet from some people every single day !!). If you really think a...
