As far as I'm aware the Watford blockade is still going ahead over Easter on the WCML.

I've just read my latest E-mail from Transport for London. No Metropolitan line south of Harrow on the Hill. No Jubilee line south of Wembley park. No London Overground between Watford Jct and Queens Parks.

I can foresee chaos.

All I can say is luckily I'm not travelling over Easter.

The advance e-mail from TFL didn't give specific dates but suggested part closures planned on certain days over the Easter period 3rd to 6th April.

Network Rail tries to avoid closing parallel routes at the same time, as seen most recently with the postponement of the previous WCML blockade when the Harbury landslip blocked the alternative Birmingham route. Perhaps the co-ordination between NR and LU is less good?

Metropolitan closed between Aldgate and Northwood/Uxbridge throughout Easter Weekend. No Chiltern between Great Missenden and Marylebone throughout Easter Weekend.

Jubilee closed between Waterloo and Wembley Park closed throughout Easter Weekend with the closure being extended to Stanmore on Easter Monday.

LO Watford DC closed between Queen's Park and Watford Junction on Easter Sunday only.

Not even coaches? That is extremely poor if so. People still need to travel.

Seems unlikely, though, that there won't even be stopping coach services?

Previously the coaches have run to Stanmore to connect to the tube, but due to the tube closures it looks like they're running to Edgeware on Friday, Saturday and Monday, and to Euston on the Sunday.

LM recommends various alternative stations on the MML but they do not provide any transport to them - what have people without cars to do then? If they must travel to Hemel on the train, the very last they could do is provide a bus from Hemel to St Albans because as far as I can see a full service is operating on the MML from there. Watford appears to be completely cut off from any form of rail transport on the Sunday. What a shambles.

Easter Sunday is a very minimal day for travel due to the fact most things are closed. Travel numbers are very low, so it makes it an ideal day to do work.

Watford isnt cut off at all. It only has buses though - to Harrow & Wealdstone to connect to the Bakerloo Line and between Euston and Hemel Hempstead - where services to MKC resume.

Not providing a direct bus from Hemel to St Albans is a bit poor though, can only assume they are unable to get the coaches.

There are plenty of coaches available. Perhaps it's their rates of pay that may be a stumbling block ?

That and driver availability, probably because Easter Sunday is much like Christmas Day, people dont want to work.

You also have the possibility of Thameslink not wanting them bussed to St Albans as it fills their services up - though with it being Easter Sunday, they wouldnt be busy anyway - lots of questions.

I hope that is not true as I thought operators were supposed to co-operate with one another at times of either scheduled or un-scheduled disruption. I wonder if Chiltern Trains are complaining about their services being filled up with displaced WCML passengers?
