TfGM Bee Network - fleet discussion

I had the 721, 768, and 893 recorded as having been let under the Queens Road Large franchise in tranche 2. I now find I have also got the 893 recorded as having been let under the Oldham Large franchise (tranche 2) and the 721 and 768 recorded as having been let under the Tameside Large...

That is, of course, if it's still a Little Hulton route. A few school services seem to have been transferred between depots/companies.

TfGM Bee Network - fleet discussion

If an E300 or decker deputises for a Solo we can at least be sure there will be adequate passenger capacity, the converse should be a bigger worry. I suspect that the Bee Network is trying to get by with too few spare buses. Another thing which could help would be if the school work were to be...

Rail Replacement Bus/Coach - advance information

I don't think Northern stipulates that a coach must be used, a bus is acceptable.

11819-21/4 have all been on Middleton work this morning, Monday 15/9.

Rail Replacement Bus/Coach - advance information

I'm sure that some TOCs, at least, do deal directly with coach companies. Intermediaries have sort of fallen from favour in recent times. 1757892212 I would say so, yes.

Rail Replacement Bus/Coach - advance information

My own experience says that, in respect of pre-planned coach substitution, the operator(s) will not be made known. In the case of spur-of-the-moment substitutions, in my own local area at least, the operator is stated. Usually, the same companies are used over and over.

I have travelled on a 52, in fact probably as often as any other route of late, but only on the central section between Cheetham Hill and Eccles, and only in the middle of the day. I know it's particularly susceptible to delays. I'm surprised to hear that you're carrying healthy loads, even at...

TfGM Bee Network - fleet discussion

Two of the four Monday to Friday journeys scheduled to terminate at Salford are at the end of service, at which point there are no more journeys due to run through to Eccles - and those I had made a point of excluding, as you will see. Similarly three of the Saturday journeys and six of the...

    Bee Network Service/Route Discussion

The 52 has always operated safely! It's the 100, particularly, which is in danger. The 'duration' dates quoted are misleading, the change is 31 Aug until further notice, as is made clear later.

TfGM Bee Network - fleet discussion

There are only two southbound journeys per day (Mondays to Fridays) and one on a Saturday which are scheduled to terminate at Salford Precinct, other than those towards close of service when there are no more journeys scheduled to operate beyond. The journeys referred to are all scheduled to...

I can assure you it was 48801-3 I was referring to, but I referred to whether or not they were current (i.e. still on Stagecoach's fleet strength) in 2025, not to them being new. They were new in 2011/2.

You suspect who is asking about 48101/2/3?

TfGM Bee Network - fleet discussion

48801-3 were 2011/2 TfGM-owned Optare Solos, new to First Manchester (59009/12/3 - YJ61JDO/JDZ/JEO) but transferred to Stagecoach 2015. With Stagecoach, they initially ran from Stockport depot. The UKbuses fleet list shows 48802/3 as having transferred to Middleton, but I haven't found any...

TfGM Bee Network - fleet discussion

Does anyone know what happened to the three Optare Solos which became Stagecoach 48801-3? They are showing on ukbuses as being current 2025 but I can't find any trace of them actually operating in that timescale.

Lisbons funicular suffers catastrophic runaway (03/09)

My two questions (which were combined into the same post by the double post prevention system) were in response to different posters and related to different tramways - the first to the Lisbon funicular, the second to the Great Orme Tramway. I'm not aware that the Great Orme Tramway uses a rack.

Lisbons funicular suffers catastrophic runaway (03/09)

What did the rack do? 1757284264 Quote from Egg Centric's post: In the event that the cable hauling the tramcar were to malfunction, the tramcars are also equipped with automatic emergency brakes. These brakes stop a tramcar within a metre. I can imagine it being relatively easy to lock a...
