I am starting a new thread rather than taking the other off topic
If this statement is correct, and others on this thread seem to agree
Magistrates Court Fines and ACRO (Criminal Record checks)
am I in the wrong buying the first part of my journey ticket on the train, no ticket office...
I am planning on making this journey on the 1200 direct service in a couple of weeks, I have been watching seatfrog this week to see how much an upgrade was likely to cost but there have never been any available, are there ever?
I understand that the dam is a canal feeder, does anyone know if this still feeds active canals and what the long term effects of a prolonged closure of the dam would be.
Probably stretching it a bit to call it public transport but it was once.
Am I correct in thinking that this ticket is via the East or West coast, vie Preston, I have used it previously with no issues but, when travelling south from Durham , with a single to York, had an issue with a train manager not wanting to accept it, eventually saying that she would let it go...
Who decides if priv fares are available on these products?
An example of inconsistency would be, they are available on the Cumbrian coast round robin but not on the Heart of Wales one.
With all the talk about RDW at Northern I was wondering what are the maximum hours a driver can work. I think that they have to have 12 hours off between shifts but do they have to have rest days every so often or can drivers work 7 days every week.
Are hours comparable with a coach drivers...
A friend wants to travel off peak to Colne as early as possible on Monday, the first off peak train from London is the 0930, changing at Preston, however the journey planner shows this as a peak journey if travelling, (and buying a through ticket form Watford Junction).
obviously it is cheaper...
I had to make this journey yesterday, I was shocked to find that it cost me £20.20. Admittedly it is quite a long journey by rail, though it is the only real alternative, the actual stations are about 6 milea apart and there is no bus service.
There is no fare available for this journey...
I am not sure if this is the right place for this.
There was an interesting 5 mins on Bargain Hunt, (BBC1) yesterday, (16/3/18) at around 12.20 about the old clock at St. Pancras, It's survival and restoration. Should be available on Iplayer
Two questions
Is there a list of all the codes available to make it easier to buy these, and is there a list of which of the tickets which include other modes of transport are available to use with a priv as not all are?
I was travelling Reading to Watford Junction late one night, I have free travel on the underground and on London Midland, (as was then), so I only had a Reading London off peak day return. I was aware that on my journey I would have to use the bus to catch the 0124 service from Euston.
My...
I make a journey occasionally from Harrow on the Hill to Blackheath, the obvious route is via Met and jubilee lines to Southwark then Waterloo east to Blackheath.
I have a L.T. staff pass and a priv so do not have an opportunity to buy a ticket on route or at Waterloo East, Machines only. I...
Looking at Journey planner the first off peak ticket single available form Liverpool St. to Clacton is for the 12.18. (£29.60) For all services vefore that only an anytime is available (£35.00) The off peak rare shown, by checking other tickets is £39.80. Surely the £29.60 should be available...
Noticed this mentioned in another thread, (the station was closed in September 1986 after the Maid of the Loch steamer ceased to operate).
It is planned for the Maid of the loch to start operating next year after major restoration is completed.
There is obviously no chance of heavy rail...
There must be many things on the railway which exist but the reason why has been lost in the mists of time, I have a couple or examples from the Underground but I don't want to make this thread underground specific.
On the Metropolitan line, departing Chalfont and Latimer For Chesham the next...
Has free travel forced up single fares on buses?
Firms get paid a percentage of the fare when a pass is used, it seems to me that fares have increased recently by way above inflation and prices of other tickets.
I have a Retired Priv, my mother has a senior rail card and my brother nothing. We are planning a trip around Scotland early next year and would like to sit together. We will be using virgin East and West Coast and Scotrail.
Without actually getting together is there any way that we can get...
We are aware of an issue with emails from the Forum to Microsoft-based email accounts (hotmail/outlook/live.com email addresses). This is being looked into currently, thanks for your patience meanwhile.
