Amazing. Perhaps you, or some other person with access to the Magic Big Book Of Correct Morals, could provide the rest of us mere mortals with an annotated version of the NRCoT etc, to let us know which provisions are 'morally right' to exercise, and which are merely 'legally allowable' (and...
I wonder how much money is "recouped" from investigating and prosecuting other crimes. Speeding, drunk driving, assault, theft, ... Oh wait, that's not the point...
Wouldn't it be nice if companies 'played by the rules' - that is to say, followed the rules - without anyone having to do anything, let alone having to 'work hard'.
100% NOT OK.
In particular, section 7.2 of the terms and conditions has:
If an Oyster card has a photo on it, it's for that person, only. TfL often sets gates to 'beep differently' for discounted cards (such as this one), and any inspection will immediately reveal the incorrect use. This...
Many (if not all) SWR services from Guildford to Waterloo have a guard on board; I believe they can sell tickets. Does this count as an 'opportunity'? Does the answer to that depend on whether the guard came through the train or not?
Perhaps one of those pricing managers that we're always being told read this forum could quietly have a word. Or maybe not so quietly! (while still internally, of course)
But presumably you're ok with, say, the Network Railcard, where a 'subscription holder' who pays £30 a year gets a 33% lower price on offpeak rail travel in the south east? Just as long as you aren't shown that 'real' price at the same time??
Some retailers allow fee-free amendments (note, not refunds) of Advances - I know of CrossCountry and RailSmartr, there may be others. The last time I surveyed the landscape I found that Cross Country had the best UI for this, in my opinion. You can buy any ticket from any retailer (broadly...
This thread https://www.railforums.co.uk/threads/swr-advance-ticket-availability.263784/#post-6671981 covers SWR's recent policy change (and partial reversal) in the same area. Getting that change (partially) reversed took a lot of complaint, and media attention - the same might or might not...
I don't accept that argument at all. The world we have to deal with is constantly being en-shirt-ified (there's a wikipedia article with a rude word in the title, which is the term I actually mean here, but I can't link to it...) and there's naff all we can do about. Don't tell me "it keeps...
It's "accepted" in the sense that we "accept" the weather - we can't do anything about it, so we just have to put up with it. Doesn't mean it's liked or even desired.
Perhaps because since Portsmouth Harbour to Ryde Pier Head doesn't actually involve any rail travel, it would be a bit odd for there to be a train ticket for it??
We are aware of an issue with emails from the Forum to Microsoft-based email accounts (hotmail/outlook/live.com email addresses). This is being looked into currently, thanks for your patience meanwhile.
