Im not convinced. Nuclear waste has to go somewhere.. There are major dangers. Look at recent Tsunami in Japan. I know we are not on a major Earthquake fault line but you can never say never...
I am also on about practicality.. Forget the rose tinted nonsense.. Our units cannot handle more than...
Most threads on here are banging on about multiple units,gangways,25kv etc..
Im not tarring everyone with the same brush but in the last decade Trains are becoming really dull....
I was lucky to start out on 47s..ok as a trainman but i learnt to drive on them.
Most of Europe are still...
What is this obsession with gangways! As a Driver we are never asked the perfect train. Not has the Driver lost a decent cab size as well as it being a Loco.He/She is reduced to a cupboard.... Multiple Units should be kept on Surburban routes. Its shocking they are allowed from London to Crewe...
This is a bug bear of mine when driving a unit. 170s dont have good sound proofing.
I would rather hear the noise of the engine than some muppet behind me. I so long for the days we come full circle and TOCs realise that Multiple Units are crap and bring back Locos.... Its a rare occurance when...
That reminds me of a scenario that happened often at Coppermill on a CL315.
Hit the Neutral Section with AWS for signal to cancel. But if the Batteries are not charging correctly you end up in a heap...
I share the same views. I drove Electrics for 8 years and im far happier on Diesels.. I find it hilarious hearing about reliability when it was one thing after another with OHL issues. Its not just you stuck with no line volt light. Its all the juice traffic within that neutral section! How are...
Back in the day i took a 317 from Stansted to Liv St in 29mins... The last one didnt have Tott hale. I should know as i was driving...
Cambridge drivers told me of a pair of 86s that left Cambridge station and were already doing 100mph by Hills Road bridge. Forget your power to weight...
Well im not crying out for electrification having driven electrics now on Diesels.. They should be looking at Hydrogen fuel cells.. I just see relying on Unsightly power lines that can cause so much agro when they are down miles away from the Train your on as obsolete. Only with more...
Its definately an Inter City route. Brum Leicester,Peterborough,Cambridge.
It just needs to be recognised as that. Give the intermediate stops to EMT...
Maybe Stansted services should really be going north of Peterborough as well and joining back up with XC at Doncaster...
Ok fair enough. I should know better as i drive them on that route...
But i feel we are the lost route of XC.... Since the franchise started we were getting the bay extended at Stansted....
As per usual.. Route 6 of XCs network has been forgotten about.
Birmingham - Stansted. How about Bi-Mode 170s... A massive fuel saving Ely-Stansted section. No more 2 cars either..
