Is there a rough timeline you can share on this? I assume this will have to be a complete closure from Central to Hunts Cross?
Very much out of sync. I've been stood at a door and the speakers at the opposing door were slightly behind, though to be fair I haven't heard it happen on any unit for...
The switch "back" of Hunts Cross to Southport is still in RTT as Monday 5th Jan 2026 - are we taking bets on it being pushed back again before we get there?
Looks like the timetable reversion has been pushed back again until December. It's getting to the point of being unfathomable that a single station (or is is two) needing ASDO will have taken nearly a year of training to implement?
777004 is still sat in the same spot at Kirkdale in a bit of a sorry state - headlight missing, driver's opening cab window missing and bin bag covering, all sorts of interior roof panels dangling down the whole length of the train...
Given it's now sat back in its usual spot with at least a missing wiper and headlight (and not properly shut front door - probably a bit wet in the cab) I'd say that looks unlikely.
Certainly disappointing. There are daily runs of empty 8-car trains from Kirkdale to South Parkway and back - are there really that many drivers who still haven't been trained on SDO?
Now that the introduction of all units has been completed (and introduction thread closed), it seems worthwhile to open a new thread for ongoing discussions and issues relating to the 777s. For example, I believe we still have 777004 out of service as it has been cannibalised for parts for a...
It's amazing/alarming how long the issues of the 777s continue for. 777031 is currently running on the Ormskirks with a stuck "Chester Limited Stops" on the outer destination boards.
How is basic stuff like this still happening after more than two years of operation?
Given I hadn't seen any for months and suddenly saw one today (and now you reporting seeing a number on Saturday) makes me think perhaps a new wave of software updates are rolling out and the incompatible trains are not yet updated?
So almost two years since public service started and there are still unit(s) that can't be paired. I just passed 777142 with a big "X no multi X" sign in its front window.
I think the stopping to starting is perhaps better in this case as I'm often still waiting 5-10 seconds from the train stopping to the doors becoming unlocked, which then lets me press the button to start the doors opening.
All Wirral lines suspended, and on the Northern line there appears to only be a couple of Headbolt services, and a limited shuttle between Formby and Liverpool on the Southport line. Very messy this morning!
EDIT: 1Z99 is still sat between Maghull and Old Roan, so perhaps the rescue train is...
Looks like a unit is stuck between Old Roan and Maghull. 2O04 departed Old Roan at 0740 and hasn't made it to Maghull (or back to Old Roan). Another unit now running as 1Z99 attempting a rescue.
Had an interesting journey on 777146 the other day.
Leaving Maghull, the train started picking up speed and then felt like a wheel slip started for a few seconds with a couple of back-and-forth lurches. The acceleration then stopped and we started coasting. As we were sat behind the cab, I...
This could also be the RFID card they have being faulty. I've seen so many of the TMs holding their card to the sensor by bending the RFID card - this is absolutely killer to the brittle circuits inside and will quickly lead to them not working.
