Our new ticketing site is now live! Using either this or the original site (both powered by TrainSplit) helps support the running of the forum with every ticket purchase! Find out more and ask any questions/give us feedback in this thread!
The on train staff will have a list of who is booked on each XPT service, and where each person is sat. In my experience, people sat where they’re not booked (let alone people not booked at all) doesn’t tend to go down well, unless agreed beforehand.
In addition, the train may not stop at pick...
Monday was pre-planned, it’ll give flexibility if needed in the future due to engineering etc.
Tuesday was due to the requirement for a 9-car to work instead of a 5-car on Monday and Tuesday, as a result of fleet constraints.
For info, currently 54/65 are diagrammed.
This includes a small number of units diagrammed 'spare', which are used to facilitate driver training and ongoing Fleet modifications, and also to cover gaps / step in during disruption.
1E06 terminated at Stevenage. 1S19 started there.
The reason 1S19 was late North was awaiting the TM, who booked on and travelled to Stevenage on 1N85 (which was held at King's Cross to enable them to join).
No other option for 1E06 unfortunately.
In France last week: I was the first person in a compartment of 6 seats. The a/c was ineffective, so I opened the window.
Two more people joined further along, and didn't seem to have an issue with it, so it stayed open.
Then a young woman joined, and immediately began a call, on speakerphone...
I know someone on 1A41 yesterday, they said:
47815 dragged it back north, Hitchin - St Neots.
The 47 was then detached at St Neots.
The IC225 then ran as 1F41 to Peterborough, and terminated.
Pax had the option of either getting off the IC225 at St Neots, and a 5-car Azuma picked them up and...
*Sigh*. See below the second reply recieved. It doesn't look like they've read my e-mails properly, or if the have, they've not understood them.
Given that (thanks to my persistence) in the end there was no loss of money or time involved, I'll leave this here.
On my trip a couple of weeks ago, the Lecce trains were units, the other two loco hauled, as per the above.
The Trenitalia site suggests new units taking over the other two services from 5 / 6 July (based on the seat selector, the only loco hauled on 5 July would be 0830 from Taranto)
I have sent a reply as below, to hopefully help the understanding of the issue here. Beyond this, I won’t be persuing this, as in the end event there was no financial or time loss incurred.
Hello
Thanks for your reply regarding this.
My concern here, and the reason for flagging this up, is...
Yes, that’s what happened - it protected 1700 KGX - EDB (the back working of the 1402, for which there wouldn’t have otherwise been a set available).
There were also some crewing constraints as a result of this (which is why I said ‘indirectly’) but I can’t really go into too many details about...
Yes, it’s a fair point about it being a ticket they’d not often see, and I’d factored that into my thought process before my e-mail.
It’s also a good point about taking a screenshot, it hadn’t occurred to me in advance that there might be an issue….!
I’m still not too happy about the reply...
Reply from TfL below. Not entirely happy with it, as although there *was* a break of journey in Hackney of around 45 minutes, on the walk between the two stations, the route (and questioned entry point at Hackney Downs) was on a permitted route for the ticket, so to my mind the below hasn't...
We are aware of an issue with emails from the Forum to Microsoft-based email accounts (hotmail/outlook/live.com email addresses). This is being looked into currently, thanks for your patience meanwhile.
