    ScotRail HST operation 2026

For info if you're running late on.the 1008; the 1008 & 1248 are diagrammed to be the same set. There is another set there at the same time which it can swap with, so best to double-check on the day....

Major disruption through Retford (16/04/2026) and residual effects over following days

My point above was that it having been mentioned on here after departure, ensuring the crew are aware (which they likely will be, but...) so that it can be addressed ASAP, is the next best option available. Although I have a pretty strong view on this (as those who know me offline will know!)...

Major disruption through Retford (16/04/2026) and residual effects over following days

It wouldn't surprise me, either. It won't have had time to be tanked at Ferme Park, in that time. To avoid doubt, I meant 1303 above, not 1330 (fat fingers)

Major disruption through Retford (16/04/2026) and residual effects over following days

I'm not in a position to assist with the 1330 toilets myself today, but if none on the entire train work, that needs reporting to on-train crew ASAP (if it hasn't been already?), so they can call it in and Hitachi get someone to it / give LNER Control chance to see if it can be swapped out....

Major disruption through Retford (16/04/2026) and residual effects over following days

In this case, ECS moves to Heaton tend to be worked by a driver who has previously worked a Class 1 (often, but not always, the same class 1 as the associated ECS). In the event of the class 1 running very late, it isn't surprising that the driver concerned may 'run out of hours', and so not be...

Major disruption through Retford (16/04/2026) and residual effects over following days

Two seperate issues. Ongoing trespass issue at Retford. No ETA for movement as of now, lots of trains trapped both at, and not at, stations. Related: 1D29 needs to move back to Peterborough (from near Stoke), ill passengers on board and no way of getting them to Grantham. Seperate: 5D25 loco...

Introduction of European Entry-Exit Scheme (EES)

Departing Hannover for the UK this afternoon: fingerprints & photo taken. Passport stamped as I'd entered the EU on Thursday, so I had something to match my entry stamp. One observation: be prepared for questions if anything recent doesn't match. In my case, in late Jan / early Feb I had the...

Signalling fault/cable theft (?) at Newark (eve 21 March)

It was indeed cable theft - quite a large amount involved.... 1E21 yesterday was sent forward, to help clear a platform for a following service, which didn't have one at the time. It couldn't run via the Joint Line due to crew knowledge. This morning the alterations are in reaction to the...

    Strange LNER moves

All I can really say on here is they're all related to that - either directly or as moves to get between the locations required.

ECML disruption - broken down train near York (21/02)

1S12 was cancelled as the unit may have at one stage been needed for an evacuation (which in the end wasn't required). Without being able to say too much, the delay was mainly due to assessing if the unit could be enabled to move forward safely. If it could (which in the end, was the case)...
