I know you can buy a weekly NetworkOne Tyne & Wear Rover ticket at Metro ticket machines and on the respective bus company (Stagecoach, Go North East, Arriva) apps, but can you buy it on the bus? Or if not, is there a ticket you CAN buy on the bus for a week that is multi-operator? I ask because...
I'm a bit confused over the name of this brand.
A recent advert on ITV gave a new pronunciation of "hun-dee", yet the Irish advert on RTÉ One refers to it as "hi-un-die".
So which is correct? Or why the different pronunciation in different markets?
I was at an Iarnród Éireann presentation tonight about the implementation of new ticketing systems.
It seems that IÉ are going to be trialling eTickets, mobile tickets, expansion of the Leap card across all IÉ services (except Enterprise) and contactless card payments in the Greater Dublin DART...
There is a DART unit - 8627 - currently stabled at Drogheda, and want to ask, how would it have got there (would a DMU have dragged it or a loco?) and why would it be at Drogheda?
(Image shows Iarnród Éireann's DART EMU, 8627, stabled at Drogheda traincare depot in the Republic of Ireland)
Does anybody know the following regarding the NIR Class 3000 units built by CAF?
The length of one of the driving coaches
The height of the unit including bogies
The width of the unit
Any schematic diagram of the unit
I'm putting together a seating plan of them for a project and can't find...
Last week i was using a TVM at Edinburgh Waverley (who in the right mind wrote the software for these), and was very confused on what the validity warning was when it popped up.
For reference it was a single from Edinburgh to North Berwick with no railcard, yet the warning that came up said it...
Anybody know what's happening at Central Station? Police and ambulances everywhere, lots of sirens across the city as well and being advised to avoid the station.
About three weeks ago there was a rake of old NIR Mk2 coaches in sidings on the northbound side of Dundalk Railway Station in Ireland in a state of disrepair and old NIR blue and grey livery (see attached pic), yet on Friday they have gone and the sidings are now clear of not only those but also...
Anybody know why there are CityLink coaches in Belfast - all with "Driver Training" on the matrix and PCV L-plates on them? All fully branded and with NI reg plates rather than the Irish CityLink or Scottish CityLink plates?
Translink have announced that the line between Belfast and Derry~Londonderry is to be upgraded to 90mph working and the possibility of a new station halt near to Derry~Londonderry Airport.
This will coincide with the works at Yorkgate railway station, which is currently being rebuilt, and...
Earlier on today at Connolly Station in Dublin I enquired about the Sail Rail single from Dublin to London Euston - priced at €47.
The guy in the ticket office had a poke about on his computer and came back with the following ticket and route:
RailSail Single - Economy €47.00
Dublin City (CIV)...
I recently saw a bus in the Skelmanthorpe area with the following branding on the back...
...the branding states "Shift to Shat".
Now I know that Skelmanthorpe has the local nickname of "Shat" but to those outside of the area, are they not going to be looking at the other connotation of the...
The DART+ Programme will revolutionise travel in the Greater Dublin Area. It will see the DART network grow from its current 50km in length to over 150km. Bringing DART travel with all its benefits to new and existing communities.
It will promote multi modal transit, active transport, boost...
With all the TVs out there now and it all getting a bit much, it would be interesting to know how we all watch TV these days.
For this I'm only including physical sets or set top boxes - not streaming services such as Netflix, itvX etc.
Hi
Does anyone know if the ScotRail subsidised bus from Glasgow Central > Queen Street > Buchannan Street Bus Station operates on the strike days (primarily this Saturday) or would the Subway be a better option from St Enoch to Buchannan Street?
The undersides of the platforms are held up with some scaffolding along the London end of the platform, whilst the country end seems to be crumbling away.
As the platform is on a raised level against the ground, surely this could potentially be a health and safety issue?
Just saw this Tweet:

I'm not really sure who they are but they promise an all-electric freight fleet, but show an image of a Class 365 on their Twitter banner.
Was travelling on 2A96, 1026 Liverpool Lime Street to Crewe via Manchester today and there was a prolonged stop at Broad Green.
It transpired that a passenger had suffered a cardiac arrest on board the train, however the guard had paramedics meet the train at Broad Green (handy as there is the...
I see one of the Network Rail Inspection units (a 153) is currently in a siding in Peterborough, yet the unit number on the country end (as in pointing towards Grantham) has been covered over.
Will this become a 953 in line with the numbering Network Rail have done in the past with the 950...
