    London Midland class 150's

The regular 150 services I travel on into Birmingham for work have now gone over to 172 operation now. The 07.08 Leamington Spa - Kidderminster and 07.56 Dorridge - Stourbridge were pairs of 172s this morning which will most likely mean the 18.02 Dorridge - Kidderminster later today will be as...

    London Midland Class 150s Farewell

Regarding riding on any 150s on 5th Nov, you will be lucky as I normally pop out early on Saturdays on the Leamington line (normally to photograph the liners) but today only produced one (150015) on the 09.09 Dorridge - Kidderminster as all other services were 172 whereas the majority were 150...

    London Midland 172 staff briefs

Absolutely they are more spacious, because there are less seats than on a 150! Coversely, there is more room to stand up now. Every cloud. :D I had 172333 back from work on Monday night and suffered some serious wheel slip on the slightly wet rails. Its gonna be fun when the snow comes......

class 150 / 153 combo on Snow Hill line.

153365 with a UID hybrid 150 on the 06.47 Worcester - Dorridge this morning. I assume the hybrid to be 012 as that was the pairing yesterday but could be equally 001/002 or 019, as I was on 015 when it passed me and it wasnt blue! --- old post above --- --- new post below --- 153365+150002 on...

150/0 hybrids back to 2 car units.

150216 out with 150018 this morning on 07.58 Dorridge - Kidderminster. So 216 definitely not in Bristol.....yet. Also, 150109+106 on 07.08 from Leamington. So not all 172s but won't be long I guess.

    London Midland 172 staff briefs

Hi, 172345 worked to Leamington Spa on the 17.25 from Kidderminster (5th Oct). From Monday 3rd October it seems the following trains departing from Moor Street tare 172's now: 18.00 to leamington Spa 18.10 to Whittlocks End 18.25 to Dorridge All were 150's last week. However...

RPSI "Mystery Train" (Diesel hauled) 1st October 2011

Thanks GM078 seems I had a lucky escape by all accounts. I actually think fixing particular locos for tours is annoying as it happens/happend alot in the UK and usually means if you don't do the tour the loco works, then it won't appear for years afterwards as none of the "top men" in the loco...

RPSI "Mystery Train" (Diesel hauled) 1st October 2011

It seems 080 is fast becoming for the RPSI what grid 56114 was for Pathfinder Tours in the UK at the end of the 90's, by being "available" for every tour. I understand things are different in Ireland regarding allocating or "fixing" Locos for tours but for the same 2 locos (072 and 080) to work...

RPSI "Mystery Train" (Diesel hauled) 1st October 2011

The are two main reasons I like (and have booked on the July and this Saturdays) the RPSI mystery tours this year are 1). an 071 is on the front and 2). The sociable timings mean I can fly out from my local airport (Birmingham) do the tour and fly back all in one day without any overnight stay...

RPSI "Mystery Train" (Diesel hauled) 1st October 2011

As it's been already mentioned, I have been told it's Limerick but realistically the destinations are limited bearing in mind the start and end ti Es for the "tour" and they tend to spend 3 hours at the destination so places like Cork, Galway, Ballina, Westport a non starter. As regards...

150/0 hybrids back to 2 car units.

150117 out with 150018 on the 07.58 from Dorridge this morning (21st). Still solid 150s on the Leamington line at the moment 172s seem to be still sticking to the Stratford at the moment. Gary

    RPSI "Mystery Excursion" 23rd July

I've just sent my booking off for this and I e-mailed the RPSi before doing so and they are expecting it to be hauled by 2 x 071. I guess that won't mean double headed 071's but 2 seperate ones at some point in the day.
