Our train coupled to theirs (so we were told - I stuck my head out of the window and it looked like that's what they were doing), but we didn't move and just waited for the rescue loco to arrive.
When that arrived we were told it would be about 30-45 minutes before we set off as the air...
Does anybody know if the failed train was without power during their wait?

That doesn't sound good. I'll see how it goes then. If I get put in a taxi my dad will possibly have to collect me from Stevenage at a silly hour in the morning unless they...
That is the case. A Voyager went past us on the other line not long after we stopped. I think it was deployed to check the state of the OHLE.
We were then told we were going to reverse back to Berwick and use single line working to pass the failed train, however 15 minutes later were told that...
That's not good. Hopefully they didn't have any little kids.
We're still sat south of Berwick, but are now coupled to the failed train in front. I don't think the rescue loco's arrived yet!
We've been here about 3 hours now. I was supposed to be in Stevenage 15 minutes ago. I've seen some...
Looks like nothing at all is running southbound between Berwick-Upon-Tweed and Newcastle due to a failed train just south of Berwick. Northbound however seems unaffected.

We've been sat here for 2 hours and the information about the problem has only...
I'm currently sat just south of Berwick. The guard said there might be a power supply issue and another train was going to inspect, which to me suggests there may be OHLE issues. A train (looked like a Voyager from the glance I got) went past southbound on the northbound track at speed, so not...
Thanks for the advice guys, after all that my dad has said he would prefer to pick me up from Stevenage. At least it's helpful to know for the future.
One of my mates is caught up in the chaos, he was due in to London about 15 minutes ago and has yet to arrive in Peterborough. From what I've...
I haven't picked it up yet (I arranged TOD so I couldn't forget it), so don't know whether it's EC only or EC & Connections. Viewing the details on the East Coast website doesn't say either.
I don't have any changes, so it might be routed EC Only - does the "& Connections" bit only get added if...
I'm due to travel south to Stevenage tomorrow on an Advance ticket, however with the bad weather and state of the roads I'm concerned my parents who are picking me up might have difficulties getting to Stevenage station to pick me up.
I'm therefore contemplating trying to get to St Neot's or...
Anybody know if they're running a replacement bus service for Edinburgh-Dundee/Aberdeen?
The disruption page on the NRE website suggests they might, but the service details only says bus services for Glasgow-Aberdeen.
They have a YP railcard, so I think the difference is about £12, however they are hoping to use the train between Edinburgh and Dundee on their return trip.
One of my mates has an Off Peak Return from Dundee to Southport and intends to travel today.
As ScotRail, East Coast and Cross Country have suspended all services between Dundee/Aberdeen and Edinburgh, he can't travel by train, so may end up taking the bus to Edinburgh and catching the train...
Slightly off topic, but what would the odds be of getting an easement added to the NRG allowing those for whom Blackfriars would count as a London Terminal when not travelling via HS1 are allowed to use the Thameslink route between St Pancras and Blackfriars when travelling by HS1?
Presumably...
I've had a YP railcard added to my Oyster card at the ticket office nearest St Pancras and not had any issues, so I assume at the one nearest Kings Cross you shouldn't have any either.
They don't do coke etc any more, but I've taken bottled water away with me before and not had any issues.
On my last trip with FGW in August I think I ended up taking a bottle with me as I hadn't finished.
I did however notice they would open the sparkling water slightly, saying it was to...
I've also noticed today the game isn't running the simulation for the next day, instead responding "Previous day was skipped due to excess server load"
Edit: I've just got the simulation page (before other users must have run it) and it takes ages to load the iframe before returing the error...
