Thames regularly hired a CT 158 for a time around 2002ish which worked Oxford - didcot bristols. The unit worked ECS from Tysley in the morning then returned to Tysley in the evening. 158s definatly haven't worked into paddington for years, not sure if they are even cleared now - will have to...
Severn Sound. Yes - all open now and running through although still suffering delays. I hadn't listened for a while but I've been down and can confirm it is now running through but they are with 30+delays. THey were still saying it were shut at alf 5 though! Couldn't see much from B4008 road...
Last travel reports indicated that trains from swindon terminating at Stonehouse and trains from Bristol terminating at Cam and Dursley until line reopens. Road Transport to gloucester and cheltenham. Birmingham Cardiffs shuldnt be affectd, others being diverted via STJ and Lydney. Tanks now...
If its haresfield loop, its between gloucester and the junctions of the bristol/kemble lines. Yes flask does still run but not as frequent as it used to. Usually D/headed tracters I think or dreds. Although its usually only one or two flasks, two locos are used for insurance purposes. Don't...
I don't think they are boring, its because as I see it we become acustomed to the "way we were". The country its self in my opinion has never been one for liking change but its enevitable. All good things at some point or another in their lifespan do come to some sort of an end, some more...
One of the major factors with 3rd/4th rail is cost. OHL is apparently much cheaper to install, maintain and operate. Line upgrades for GWML have been battered around for years now including the like of dedicated HS electric routes and of course HST2 which has again been a concept for a number...
I don't think its just cross country that it affects - most of the companies have had problems at one time or another with lack of staff, low morale, crazy ideas that we know wont work etc. - if you can remember a few years ago we were all saying the same thing when virgin introduced voyagers...
Not sure if much does these days now - not sure but one of the things I think they still do down there is scud pan testing for new drivers. Its a bit like on the buses, give it some poor line adheasion and try and stop a 153 in controlled circumstances!
Yate is included in the FGW list as when parkway is closed they can shunt at parkway to go back to Gloucester. It hasn't happened this year yet so I'm not sure if the drivers can still sign it. Its also the reason that stroud is on there, for wrong line working when kemble section was/is...
Would strongly advise against distributing it until your sure its going to work. This is usualy a licenced copy and downloading it or even uploading it is a breach of copywrite law. As far as I am aware, you would need to access it through the rail IT network server which is not normally...
Would anybody by anychance have a copy or be able to get a list of the SWT 159 destination code/list?
Would be most appreciated if you could let me have a copy.....
Cheers:grin:
Neh, I no 153s are referred to as scuds aswell, but they aint fired from anyting! Only other thing this could have been was pellet gun or sumthing like that. Could have been worse if the guard was there or it was at the leading end with the driver! I don't think anything goes through these...
Indeed... Unit was sent to SPM I presume as it certainly could be driven from the 57768! What ever hit it must have been fairly large because it shattered both panes.
