Had a 101 slide through stonehouse one day and stopped by the foot crossing. Driver had to set back. Was not amused at the time because we were about to board it.....:D
Also, 14x and 15xs are notorious for slipping around c&d, yate areas and also on the kemble branch.
Was on...
Have received info regarding 378001 that it was due to start nocturnal testing on the East Grinstead branch this friday (31st of October). Moved from shoeburyness thursday apparently as 5O78 10.50 ex to stewarts lane. Sorry for late posting, didn't get email until this morning - may be of use...
Beach Line services are always the first to get cancelled at Bristol, they always nick the crews to work other services. Its part of FGW stratedgy plan for when things go wrong. 0740 ex Gloucester and several other services were delayed AM due to stupid driver thinking they could cross the...
One thing that has to be remembered is that we all react differently to anything like this and especially with newer cameras the flashes can be very bright, especially in porer lighting where eyes may not adjust so rapidly as normal. The reasons for being asked not to use flashes are not...
142s were indeed fitted with 4-part bi folding doors but due to various faults they were changed. The main reason of course was when CDL was fitted - its easier and cheeper to sure 2 doors rather than fixing four. They also had SCG gearboxes and actually sound more like my national when...
Flash photography - causes momentary blindness if unfortunate to catch it full on, therefore distracts and disorintates driver - increases risk of spads/overruns - do you need anymore reasons????
People need to realise that these days its not just aimed at us, its aimed at all. Come on guys...
Booked to depart from PAD-OOC at 07+51 as 5A40, train loco dead in rear. Shunt loco booked from OOC to PAD to arrive approx 15 mins after train has arrived at Paddington.
As it is a class 5, if train is empty and staff/paths are available then there is no reason why this should wait time...
If printed versions aren't available (there may be one included with the program in the readmes?) then you could print screen (you'l have to do this screen by screen though - if you press "print screen", open paint and press "shift" and "insert" you'l see the screen appear on the page infront of...
Doesn't suprise me. Only five trains? Have seen more in my time. One of XCs problems, particualrily when it was VT has been tight diagramming in the past, you only needed one or two running late and the knock on effect can be hidious! Everything seems to revolve round the birmingham hub...
They do indeed retain their refurbed seats. Was on the them the other week. Still going strong...... Even 1499 still retains its origional seats, albeit with some extra motifes thanks to the local lydneites that trashed it...
Hi guys,
Supprised no one has mentioned this:

Check out issue 151, contains full report on them with pikies aswell.
They are basically a high density 350 equivalent of the 450:D
What you can see does depend on companies now and varies between units on refurb aswell. FGW for example have covered over or replaced most of their sight glasses, especially on refurb stock. On 95% atleast of the units have full plastic screens now which also block off the second mans side...
SWT can use international platforms if required but platform staff must be in attendance at all times on every door to assist passengers due to the larger than normal gaps. This reason is part of the works which will need to be carried out before domestic services can use it on a regular basis.
They are only any good if you want a ticket they sell. They don't sell all tickets, and certainly don't do all destinations. Ours was that good it lasted until rammed by a 4x4:lol:
You have always been allowed to purchase advance tickets from one station and board further down the line, as long as you travel on the train stated on the ticket, its valid. Same thing applies if you leave the train early. As long as the journey is covered by that stated then its valid...
If you look close enough at the display, you can see quite clearly that they are made up of individual segmants. These are invidividual painted segmants that rotate round to form characters as required. If they were dot matrix, look at how for example aptis tickets were printed. Each...
