Having just looked again at the proposed Portsmouth direct timetable it seems this is exactly why they've gone for the 20/10 pattern, so that trains don't have to be looped at Haslemere, allowing them to fulfil their promise of having a "useable" Portsmouth service from Clapham Junction. Even...
I'd say that the 20/10 pattern is something that'll happen regardless of what other changes are made to the timetable for the actual thing, given the promises they've made.
Couldn't they remove the (disused) other track through Esplanade and make it single track along there, wouldn't that give more space to straighten out the track and therefore the platform? As for the tunnel couldn't that be singled as well (especially with a new passing loop planned for Brading)...
Neither was First TransPennine Express but they still used FirstGroup branding on that. I'm not saying it's necessarily a bad thing that they've moved away from First branding but I don't think it being part MTR would have stopped them using First branding had they still being using it on their...
That higher quality image shows a glimpse of the interior and looking at that it appears to be no different to the current interior despite people on here suggesting that they would refresh the interior when the trains get re-liveried. I wonder if thats why this train is going all the way back...
Website now appears to be up using the link from this thread (at least for me using my mobile at the moment). At first glance it appears to be similar to the GWR one but with different colours.
Since the same person who posted that fake LSWR mockup was the same person who posted this livery mockup, I wouldn't be that surprised if it turned out this livery mockup was fake as well. If it is genuine though then I wouldn't say it's that bad but it does remind me a bit of the old National...
It's been quite useful for me in the past going to Bristol, because it meant that I only had to change once although I suppose I could have changed at Basingstoke instead. Cutting Woking and/or Basingstoke from the Weymouth trains which some people have suggested would be a pain since it would...
Oh no. If there the ones I think they are then they sound awful. They sound like Celia was doing something for children's TV and not train announcements.
Yeah, as others have said it is something that some guards/drivers like to put in occasionally although as pompeyfan has said some people don't like it (I think HarleyDavidson has mentioned that). Anyway as a side note I wonder how bad it would be if someone put the full headcode (e.g. 2L45) on...
I'd rather there was slack in the timetable and the train actually turns up when it is supposed to rather than not be and the train turns up late at the slightest "hiccup".
Well according to Wikipedia (not the best source I know), the new TOCs name (at least officially) is South Western Trains.
