From my Overseas map I don't think India is totally cut off as there is a line into Pakistan and on into Iran. There is a very limited service between the 2 countries.

Boris says "sorry," but TfL fares must go up

On buses in Manchester £1:20 would get you about 3 stops and day pass for the whole network costs a lot more than a London day Ticket. I have used the buses quite a bit over the last couple of weeks in London. I liked the new buses and they were all very clean. Traffic was an issue especially...

Boarding a train without a ticket - really illegal?

I queued for over 10 mins at Picadilly for 1 of the only 2 machines there and when I got to the front the card reader was broken so I just bought on the train. The queues for the ticket office were masssive and the queue from the machines blocked the concourse. This is the main issue with...

    Automated Announcements

On TPX they guard had to follow the auto announcements to remind customers to take their tickets with them due to ticket checks and barriers etc. Slightly different as on London Buses, they now all have these pre recorded announcements. Its useful but can provide comic moments like when it...

Why to DLR trains still use drivers

A few months ago I was one out of Bank that was manually driven up to the next station. There was then the door operator as well. In fact I had never seen so many staff on or around the platforms. This was mis morning.

I travelled a few days ago from Kings Cross to Doncaster and a lot of people got on and off there 13:00 to Glasgow. I felt I had a good choise of trains. The Leeds one left 5 mins later but stopped at least 3 times where as we only stopped at Peterbrough. I know the Inverness and I assume...

Last bounce on the Oldham loop

You can get tram/train rangers but they cost more. £4:00 train rover. £6:30 train and tram. I paid £5:90 from Marple to Bury and back where as I could get to Bolton for £3:30. I find the tram usful but expensive

    North West Rover

Agree with NR as my ticket was checked once on board yesterday and I went on 8 trains on the last day of the Loop. They tend to get checked in the peak most of all.

Last bounce on the Oldham loop

The class 37 went through Oldham at around 20:00 or so. Loads of people waving out of the Windows. I thought about going on it but wanted a more of a regular feel for the last day and I went on a class 37 trip a few months ago from Preston to Paignton. I am glad I did not wait around to see the...

Last bounce on the Oldham loop

Very good afternoon and evening. Took the former Mersey pacer 142055 to start with to Rochdale via the loop and the rest were either a single or the double 156. Liked the brass band at Victoria to see us off and the free mince pie's and souvenir ticket and print out, it was freezing though at...

What is your favourite London terminus?

Have to say Marylebone followed by St Pancras. Worst is King Cross though Fenchurch Street was a big let down though of cause its not exactly a long distance station, They should be taken off the Monopoly board.
