You're confusing the distribution network with the supply chain (i.e. the flow of money).

Melksham is not on this route, it is on the line between Chippenham & Trowbridge whereas Dundas is between Bath & Trowbridge. The work at Dundas Aqueduct is actually widening to accommodate the Class 165s. I wonder if work needs to be done at Avoncliff too?

Depends where you are. In Bristol there is pretty much universal coverage across all routes, including old buses and independent operators.
