I failed 165029 at Marylebone last week with zero lighting in the London end vehicle, I suspect the batteries were flat due to a charging fault as the alternator would not kick in. prehaps this was the same vehicle.
I was trained on the Class 165 when they were brand new, the instructors told us to use all brake notches as required and it was deemed to be a very efficient brake until leaf fall season and the several spectacular incidents including Slough Bay occured. I believe the brake cylinder pressures...
This is the new station control room where the announcer, fitter, station manager and route controller have been brought together to manage the London end of the Chiltern operation.
I did both my Secondman and Driver Training at the Southside Training School in the late 70's early 80's, never heard any stories about it being haunted. It was fairly run down then and probably wouldnt be acceptable today as it only had one entrance via a staircase between the substation and...

I had a good run up from Kiddy with the 06.10, seven late into MB having followed a preceeding train from South Ruislip and thats with all the ESR's....
The fact that the Chiltern Press release does not mention Steve Murphy may be due to that Adrians letter was sent out to his staff at Chiltern, I am told that the senior managers were informed of his decision a few minutes before the letter was sent out by email to all other staff. Prehaps this...
Adrian Shooter has written to Chiltern staff today to announce his retirement at the end of the year. He will stand down as Chairman after Christmas and will be replaced by Steve Murphy who is currently at LOROL. Sad to see the Boss go, just hope Arriva dont start interfering once he's off the...
And yes it is Marylebone, it was filmed a few weeks ago over a weekend on Platforms 5&6. The area where the band is playing is the emergency exit to Rossmore Road....

Unidentified Chiltern 172 seen at Small Heath last night at approx 18.55 heading south, couldnt see any seats fitted other than a row behind the cab at each end......
