Yes of course with rights come responsibilities but is a Signallers top responsibility not Safety?? Not just of work colleges but also the Safety of the travelling public. Signallers DO NOT WANT TO STRIKE but if Network Rail are not willing to negotiate what other option is there other then risk...
I have just found this on the National Rail site.
Train Company Level of Service
East Midlands Trains A normal daytime service is expected to run on trains between Sheffield, Derby, Nottingham, Leicester and London St. Pancras. A reduced service will operate on all other routes and full...
So what would the alternative be ??? Network Rail have been totally uncompromising on this situation and have been forcing these changes despite the warnings with regards to Safety. I am unsure of your employment but if you was placed in a situation knowing your actions could make the difference...
Im so Glad that other people are thinking that way. Network rail are taking all its work "In House" and this is mentioned daily to us. So with Network rail cutting the Maintenance workers and then placing the majority of who remain onto nights to do the projects work, just who will be doing the...
Sorry but NO . The signallers Dispute is NOT separate from that with the Maintenance. Being a Signaller myself I know what we voted for. If we have a average earnning of almost £50,000 for working 3-4 days then where is my share. As I am on the higher end of the Signalling grade and certainly...
If Rail saftey Belongs in the 1970's then bring it on .......
But I for one want to know for certain That whilst travelling on that train, the regular maintenance of the track underneath me has been carried out. We have all seen the terrible effects that have previously come from poorly...
Does anyone know if the 442 (Wessex) has a running diagram for Saturdays??? I know I have asked something along this line before but what with the last timetable change I was wondering if they have started to run on Saturdays yet ????
Back to the original topic. I heard on the Local radio station that due to a Failed train the service between Brockenhurst and Lymington Pier had been replaced by a bus service. The heritage train (1498 ) has been running on this line and I know that SWT had planned to remove it in about 2...
Sorry If I missed the point here but having looked at the thread I was pointed too it doesnt actually mention anywhere on it that the train failed TODAY. So the question was is it an early end to the slam doors ????
I heard on the Local radio station that due to a Failed train the service between Brockenhurst and Lymington Pier had been replaced by a bus service. The heritage train (1498) has been running on this line and I know that SWT had planned to remove it in about 2 Months time. So does anyone know...
Im sorry that this post does not directly involve trains and hope that its allowed to remain on the forum. But the Paddle Steamer Ryde previously owned by both Southern Railway and British Rail needs your help.
PLEASE visit www.psryde.co.uk for more information. A e-petition is in place at...
The Ticket barriers can be set to what is required. For example on a Friday night lets say at Guildford the Rpis might decide to have a purge on Child tickets so they would then set the gates not to allow any child tickets through and raise the alarm when one is being used. The same can go for...

Thanks for pointing that out. I always use the National Rail web site which doesnt show the stock so I didnt actually realise the Tocs advertised what stock the service is. Something new learnt.
