Hello
I tried to buy some tickets at the booking office at Cambridge station as I have some delay repay vouchers from a very unsuccessful trip last year that are close to running out.
National Rail and the train operator websites all showed a choice of three early morning departures from...
Hello
Would be very grateful if someone can point me in the right direction...
My mum did a return journey on Scotrail > VT East Coast > East Midlands Trains services, using tickets bought from Scotrail.
On the outward journey the East Midlands leg was delayed by 80 mins.
On the...
The unloved bendy buses from London that become Malta's unloved bendy buses have a new home: Sudan.

I've just tried to buy an off peak day return from Cambridge to Norwich for £16.20.
Neither me nor the person behind me could work out how to get it from the ticket machine, and when I did get the ticket from the ticket office it wouldn't work in the barrier.
Is this a common problem...
I received a refund from Southern today, only a few days short of 5 months from the day I had to travel by alternative means due my train and the ones afterwards being cancelled.
My mind couldn't help but turn to this forum. I wonder how many people Southern has gone after in that time...
Hello
Would be grateful for advice...
I've bought a ticket to travel to London tomorrow, returning within a month.
I've just noticed (and boy am I really lucky that I did because the only reason I went onto the website was to do the delay repay for the trouble at Stevenage last week...)...
Hello
I'd be grateful for any assistance...
In brief
On 12/11/12 at 0115 I bought a ticket for travel the same day from the Southern website. I intended to travel on a train at 0745 later that morning.
When I tried to collect the ticket it my booking reference didn't work on two of the...
I booked a return journey from Scotland to Oxford for my mother, with passenger assistance, the first time she has had to use this.
No assistance turned up at Crewe for the connection on the way down, at Wolverhampton for the connection on the way back up, or on arrival back in Scotland. She...
Hello
Probably a daft question, and one I thought I knew the answer to, so I'm worried I'm getting fobbed off...
At ten o'clock at night I bought a ticket from Cambridge to London with Cambridge plusbus. I bought it from the Virgin site so I didn't pay Thetrainline's booking fee. The...
I've just paid £12 and £10.50 for the above tickets.
If I had instead bought an off peak return from Waterbeach to London for £21, would that have been valid for the journeys I want to make?
Hello
Daft question that I'd be grateful for help with...
My mum has an off peak return with XC, but didn't think to tell them she wants to be facing direction of travel and now wants to change her seat on one journey.
Is this possible? She's been to the station she booked the tickets...
Edit: Oops - I've got the thread title all wrong... I meant combining CBG - PBO and CBG - GLC via KGX tickets for CBG - GLC journey
Hello
I'm planning a journey from Cambridge to the Glasgow area in May.
Bizarrely, for both my outward and return journeys an advance single from Cambridge to...
Hello
Can anyone explain the background to the easement:
300393 Customers travelling via Norwich using fares routed Irish Ferries may travel via Norwich.
I presume there's a good reason for it, but on face value it seems a bit... well... obvious?
I'm at Newcastle but would like to be going to Glasgow.
The sensible thing would have been for them to let me go on the 1024 to Carlisle and travel that way, but they wouldn't let me as "it's a different company".
I tried to bluff and confidently told them I knew they should as my...
Hello
My parents are supposed to be flying from Scotland to England next week, and are wondering about he best fall back to have just in case.
(You'll be pleased to know they've finally seen the light and are swearing blind they'll get the train next time.)
I'm thinking that what they...
Over the last week I've tried, with varying degrees of success, to travel from Glasgow to Ayrshire a few times.
There has been disruption to services (or a similar nature) and a broadly similar emergency timetable effectively every day.
Initially the disruption was blamed on a points...
Hello
I'm just back from the Baltics, and in keeping with my tradition of buying models of trains on which I've had particularly memorable journeys...
Anyone know if there's such a thing as these or how to get them (or something close)? Or even if there's such a thing?
I did find a...
Hello
Does anyone know what Ayrshire line platforms are getting extensions?
As the order for 38 Class 380s is apparently for 130 carriages, there's still going to be 3 carriage trains around and it seems most likely that some routes will still be exclusively served by them? If I'm right, I...
Hello
Not sure if this might be a daft question...
I want to travel from Cambridge to Glasgow, preferably via Euston.
Is it possible to get a Virgin advance purchase fare? Or will the only advance tickets I get shown be NEEC (ie none valid via Euston) unless I split the ticket, seeing via...
Hello
Daft question time again - hope nobody minds me keeping on coming up with the stupid questions these days, it's just that I've started travelling by train a lot more recently after not doing so for quite a while...
The leaflet for the Network Railcard says that you can get get 1/3...
