Hello

Can anyone explain the background to the easement:

300393 Customers travelling via Norwich using fares routed Irish Ferries may travel via Norwich.

I presume there's a good reason for it, but on face value it seems a bit... well... obvious?

Irish ferries dont go anywhere near norwich :s
How would you get from Great Yarmouth or Sheringham to Dublin? ;)

I don't see what it achieves really. I guess it is meant to allow someone from Diss to go via Norwich if they want? But I guess it allows anyone to go via Norwich, so with this easement I don't see how anyone going from Penzance to Dublin can't go via Norwich?!

It's the reference to passengers travelling via Norwich being able to travel via Norwich that confuses me.

By inference I guess that passengers not travelling via Norwich can't, though I'm not sure how you'd differentiate between a passenger travelling via Norwich and a passenger not travelling via Norwich that tried to.

However I guess that if I turn up at Norwich brandishing a ticket from Liverpool to Dublin via Irish Ferries, they'd try to tell me that I was not a passenger travelling via Norwich, even though I'd be trying to be?

There is lots of nonsense in the easements.

It is ridiculous that passengers are supposed to read all (several hundred) of them before embarking on a journey, when no effort at all has been made to maintain them in a reasonable state.

The easements list is crazy, half of them don't make sense and some are strangely specific. There is one which states passengers travelling from Shipley to Runcorn may travel via Liverpool, fair enough but...why Shipley :?

Customers travelling from Southport to Bryn and beyond may not travel via Wigan North Western. This easement applies in both directions.

Yet NRE says change at Wigan Wallgate for Wigan North Western.

Just wondering if this one exists? ;)

Customers not travelling via Norwich using fares routed Stena Line Ferries may not travel via Norwich.
