The difference I notice is that on a weekday it crosses over to terminate on platform 3 (2S64 from Bradford subsequently terminates in 2), whereas on the Saturday it terminates in platform 2 (2S64 booked to use platform 3, although last Saturday ended up using 1). Perhaps 2 minutes allowed for that?

The reservations are open. Taunton to Westbury is fine, its just you can't book a bike on Westbury to Southampton. I'm not familiar with the local practice/units but having checked other dates it appears you can't ever book a bike on these services so I'm guessing walk up only. For completeness...

Yeah definitely a Trainline issue with that fare, I did also check Carlisle-Burneside, and Dalston-Kendal which are the same fare as a possible workaround but they have same issue as well.

OK, but I can only report that Fujitsu Journey Planner will sell a ticket specifically to NMC with an itinerary via NMN and vice versa. Perhaps an incorrect implementation. What the internet will do, or what the routeing guide says should happen I don't know.

As @plugwash says the stations are linked via a walk, so if you put in a Manchester to New Mills Central journey via New Mills Newtown into a journey planner (at least in a ticket office) it will show a New Mills Central ticket valid and vice versa for the other way round. Like how Burnley...
