Can't speak to a comparison of Star Desktop/Star Mobile but for the specific example in Star Desktop there is no "for Dummies" Single to Return excess option, you either a) employ a known workaround which involves a slight tweak to one of the standard excess workflows, or b) construct a 'manual'...
Re Knowledgebase. Its under Staff Travel -> Staff Travel On Caledonian Sleeper,
or can be reached by Sleeper Services -> Caledonian Sleeper -> For information of how to book sleepers and scrolling down.
Not true that its nationwide. Travel somewhere at a peak time on a non bank holiday such as the 2nd, priced by Northern or TPE for example and you will be charged a peak fare.
Yes, it does normally run. Looking at recenttraintimes for the past 6 months it ran 97% of the time on the old timetable. This has dropped since the timetable change to 78% with the pressures of staff availability between Christmas and New Year meaning it has been cancelled every day since 27th...
The PB at that time without a railcard was £30.90, and the FB was £25.50, so if you paid £20.35 with a railcard discount then it would seem you did have a PB...
As station staff it depends if you are using the web based online dashboard or the app. On the online dashboard when you board a passenger it gives you no option to say where the passenger is located. You can add an extra freeform narrative note about anything including location which can be...
As @Lewisham2221 says its difficult to speak for all the TOCs and all the stations within those TOCs and the variations that may exist. But in principle, yes a station should have access to the app/the online dashboard and it does update live. How precisely that is managed amongst multiple staff...
If you renewed the railcard on the 21st October and you supplied them with evidence of this, I'm not sure why they are steadfastly including the 16th November journeys.
I suspect that is the small town Christmas Market promotion that you are seeing if you are looking at Leeds to Harrogate. Just the ticket code is the same as the Flash sale one which is why its described as such on a website.

I think the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway, and the associated tourist activity might have something to say about that, as would coast to coasters at St Bees (another lovely spot) and the people of "Whitehaven South".
Any plans to add regional railcards @alistairlees ? Apparently there have been some issues with some people just using an equivalent national discount instead in the likes of West Yorkshire/South Yorkshire.
Also of note there was a network wide IT issue for Northern on Monday including TVMs, so again starting station could be relevant if it was a Northern station and travel was at a time when the issue was still ongoing.
The de facto ticket acceptance on Avanti and TPE was withdrawn on 27th September.
Acceptance on TPE would apply in the event of a cancelled train, the OP has a cancelled train so I think could make the case there but I'm not sure it helps them in this scenario.
It's not dependent on "disruption", the requirement is "cancellation" so this situation absolutely fits.

My question would be whether the Northern guard was aware of the 1230 cancellation when making those announcements and its not just a standard...
The other possibility is a SplitSave situation of Lancaster - Oxenholme TPE Only CDR and Oxenholme - Windermere CDR which works out 20p cheaper than Lancaster - Windermere at the adult rate. Obviously depends on how much faith the jury puts in @edgar13 testimony.
Yes, Josh MacAlister MP for Whitehaven and Workington posted on Facebook yesterday that Northern plan to run to Corkickle from 25th August.
Reported here at Cumbria Crack https://cumbriacrack.com/2025/08/13/bransty-tunnel-update-trains-to-run-to-corkickle-later-this-month/
