A couple years ago I sat an assessment which required me to pass at the enhanced standard. After some feedback I was informed I’ve met the national standard so I can apply to companies that only require that.
For a Trainee train driver role.
What tests does the Enhanced standard have that the National Standard doesn’t?
I recently had an assessment day for a TOC that requires the Enhanced benchmark, if I’m unsuccessful with the Enhanced I hope I’ve met the national standard as I’ll be able to apply...
If during the recruitment process you lived within the commuting distance of your allocated driver depot which was within 45 mins.
Sometime after qualifying you had to move area for whatever reason and this increased your commute time from 45 minutes to let’s say 1 hour and 30 minutes. Would...
I need to do my online assessments in the next week. From these forums I take it they’re quite difficult if you don’t prepare yourself. Going to try my best.
And as for signalling school, once you make it to that point are the assessments there difficult? Are you sent home if you fail at any...
I got rejected on friday for failing the first stage of the online tests, but the email said I done well and they’ll hold my results on record for future positions. I don’t know wheather they really will or isit just waffle. Wish they’ll make these initial tests relevant to the actual job.
I see, so have you applied for the role that was advertised recently in January? I haven’t heard back yet and I find it strange that you’re already on the 2nd stage of the process, unless you’ve applied for the same role that was advertised last year or something.
Got my rejection today. Bloody hell, I really thought my application was solid lol.
I done it all...CV, Cover letter, No convictions, answered all the competency questions thoroughly. I do wonder if they prefer applicants that do not come from a railway background as I do.
This whole trainee driver recruitment process is just torturous, the stories I'm seeing and the people that make it all the way to the DMI and still don't succeed is so disheartening!
Seen some people be rejected throughout the last couple of weeks for already applying elsewhere or failed within the last 6 month's. If you dont fall into that criteria and haven't heard nothing yet it's a good look!
Glad to know I wasn't the only one that applied for this, at what stage are you taking these tests? I only have came across the mechanical, verbal and mathematical tests after applying. No electrical.
It's clear they've set the criteria for this vacancy to automatically decline anyone ticking the boxes indicating if they've applied in the last 6 months or if they're already in progress of becoming a driver
