That’s strange, that’s exactly what I was told over the phone about my results. If it does help, the TOC I done this with was Arriva, (The vacancy was for the new cross gate depo, I see they are advertising again for trainees as of now)

Yeah that was it, I felt a lot of the questions were ambiguous and tricky to answer. Their was approx about 40 questions if I recall correctly.

Yeah I failed it, they didn’t give me any specifics on how I did but I did. They just said I will have to retake it next time I go through the assessment process with any other TOC.

I went for a trainee position for a TOC that required the enhanced standard. I was unsuccessful however, I got my feedback and I discovered I passed the exams to a National standard only but I failed my situational judgement test completely. So that would mean I have one life left right? Now...

Applied to this when it was advertised before, i can handle the mechanic and the verbal tests but not the maths. I attempted the practice maths questions and got like 5 out of 8 wrong, from then I just told melysekf to forget about it

For the group bourdon I thought I done really well when I git invited earlier in the year for the arriva trainee train driver vacancy. I made two mistakes which I corrected during the test. It wasn’t good enough. To pass that you have to be flawless, NO Mistakes

The TOC gave me feedback a week after my assessment and that’s what they told me (Arriva)

Does anyone know if they GBrailfrieght require you to pass at the national standard or enhanced? I’ve met the national standard with a TOC but not enhanced.

Does anyone know if Colas require the Enhanced or National standard when it comes to the tests?

Yes, mine was with Arriva and I had a fault finding test. I would assume virgin also have the highest pass requirment since they don’t even hire trainees. Forgive my lack of knowledge here but what does DOO stand for?

Oh yeah, you’re right. Got a bit confused there. I didn’t meet the enhanced standard for the group bourdon (I know I was very quick on that but I also had A few emissions) and The SJT, which was the worse part of the day. Some of the answers are so ambiguous

Yeah I think so aswell and understand that, I won’t be put off. Only thing I’m concerned about is when I have to answer on an application form ‘Have you previously failed a driver assessment test before’ I’m going to have to say yes and it will possibly stop me from being considered from the get...

On my next attempt, I think it would be in my best interest to go for a TOC that requires the national standard only, hopefully something pops up soon!
