    2W09 Scarborough to Hull delay

This service left Scarborough on time apparently, but was 29 mins late leaving Seamer, just 5 mins away. Anyone know what happened? (3 April).

    4 track v HS2

Hindsight is a wonderful thing, but, wonder if people agree with me that HS2 money would have been better spent on making 2 track busy lines into 4 track, especially on the very northern parts of ECML and WCML. Thinking of the derailment today, the pressure on ECML will be very high, but no...

    Extra 185s at Scarborough

Last couple of early mornings, seem to be extra 185 3 cars, on platforms 1 and 2. No movements shown on rtt. What is happening?

    185s question

Are the 51 185s with tpe the only 185s ever made? If yes, why? And if not, where are the others?

    TPE 802s

With new timetable I see an 802 arrival into Scarborough at 08:03 from Liverpool Lime Street. But then seems to depart as a DMU. I suppose an 802 on York to Scarborough is a DMU but.... Does anyone know the Link detail for the 802 on this line going forward.

    Could HST mk2 ever happen?

Following the contentious story of the removal of class 68/mk5as from use byTPE and the continuing reduction in use of class 43/HST sets, as the public love quieter smooth IC style coaches, is not a new generation of push/pull fast trains a good idea, or is there insufficient fast routes left...

    2Q08???

What is this all about? Having a trundle all over Yorkshire and Derbyshire.

    RTT identification

Not sure if this is the right place for this..... In realtimetrains, often the detailed version shows you the precise unit expected, but sometimes not. Why? My example is at Scarborough, if class is 158, 175, 185, the unit is shown exactly, but if a 68+mk5a then it does not.

    '0Txx' codes

Lots of '0Txx' head codes between York and Scarborough this week. Is this training?

    Double headed locos.

I also wonder what the control system is like on a double or triple header train. Even if the two locos have the engine revs perfectly synchronisef and gears identical, it is impossible for two machines to be identical, so the power to the wheels has to be slightly different across the locos, so...

    Nova3 in Malton

This morning drove through malton about 5am, a Nova3 unit in complete shutdown parked near station. Does one stay here every night or what?

    Specials Route Knowledge

How do some companies, e.g. WCRC, manage with long distance specials? Do they have several crew changes along a journey due to route knowledge, or do their drivers learn the entire routes? Also, is it ever possible a driver could take a train over a route he does not know?

    Barrier down times at crossings

What is the thought behind the time a barrier descends to when the train crosses. At a certain town 'X', the full barriers are down for over a minute before the passenger train trundles in or out of the adjacent station. For years local residents complain about the whole town jammed up by...

Scarborough to Bridlington - December timetable issues.

Sunday timetable. Up. Dept seamer 1506, Dept Filey 1516. Down. Dept Filey 1508. Dept seamer 1521. That should be interesting on single track. Moderator note - thread title changed to reflect specific nature of issue.
