This service left Scarborough on time apparently, but was 29 mins late leaving Seamer, just 5 mins away. Anyone know what happened? (3 April).

Drunken youths on the track, just before the station, it had to wait for police attendance to shift them, it was then held at Bridlington from 2304-2322 as Brid let the 2306 out first, even though 2W09 was running non-stop from there to Hull, so it had to wait until the 2306 cleared the section to Driffield

RTT says they both departed platform 5 which I’m assuming if true must be permissive.

Hopefully the delayed Scarborough punters walked forward in those two minutes.
I've just asked a Northern Hull driver about this, P5 at Brid is only permissive in emergencies, eg to rescue a failed train, he said the 2306 pulls right up to the Scarborough end of the Platform when it arrives at Brid, so 2W09 would not have fitted, the inputs for Brid in Trust are done manually by the signalman, could be a minute or 2 out!
