Thanks for the info Sun Chariot - I never paid much notice to DMU's back in the 1970's and 1980's, apart from the 3 car units we used to get at Didcot - and I never took a photo of one (except when something else was in the picture - see http://jinksarchive.fotopic.net/p58648921.html
Well done Curly42 - a very evocative pic.
My pic of the overhauled DMU's was one of the very rare occasions we saw DMU's between Didcot and Swindon - there was no local service (thanks Dr. B.) and probably the only time they traversed this route was to/from Swindon for overhaul - which we...
This is one of the most difficult competitions in ages because the subject matter and location of no 2 is really unusual and well taken but number 8 has been executed superbly. Several of the others are worthy contenders too. But because of the quality of the shot, it's number 8 for me.
About 60 new photos on my site, including:
56101 on the move from Eastleigh to Carnforth
Serco 73's T&T
DRS convoy, 37603 and four 20's
Clan Line
and the rest!

2) tops of lamposts chopped off.
3) cropped too...
It's an A2/3 I think - check the washout plugs on the firebox sides and the position of the cylinders behind the bogie truck - can't make out the number but the nameplate looks like it extends the full width of the smoke deflectors which would probably make it 60500 'Edward Thompson'
It's...
