Hi All
Please can anyone id this loco, is it a Peppercorn A1 or A2, my feeling is a A2 as the 5 looks like the middle number, any one any idea?

It's an A2/3 I think - check the washout plugs on the firebox sides and the position of the cylinders behind the bogie truck - can't make out the number but the nameplate looks like it extends the full width of the smoke deflectors which would probably make it 60500 'Edward Thompson'

It's carrying a Diag.118 Peppercorn Banjo Dome boiler and 60500 only carried one of these from March '62 until June '63 when withdrawn - the time's about right as there is a Deltic and Brush Type 2 in the yard, the latter with a yellow warning panel, introduced in Feb 1962.

Could be wrong though!
