How could GWR's class 800 series IETs be improved?
Make a point of the advertised trolley service actually making its way through the train for most of the journey! Have gone all the way to Cardiff and not seen a trolley at all, yet on a recent trip with XC they came through half an hour...
Virgin wanted to pay for them as an investment which would reap rewards in more sales from the increased capacity
Also for them, extending the whole fleet was important, as after
shouting about extending sets it would be just typical that when a service was suddenly overcrowded it would be a...
Connected with another post in this sub forum about splitting off the North East local services I would think that the 175s could fit well with this, whether as a standalone operation or run by another operator (personally I suggested LNER)

Controversial but given we are in the “speculative discussion” i write this with in line with forum guidelines that should not result in me getting shot down for it. We all have ideas!
1. Curtail the core Western end service at Slough, build a turn back between the relief tracks west of the...
With the attached premium at peak times when all bar two GWR services out of Paddington are now deemed "Peak" requiring "Anytime" tickets, with "Off Peak" ticket holders forced to use the 345s from the low level station.
