A couple of simple question that I just need clarification on.
Travelling from Paddington - Reading using an Off-Peak Day Return can I come back via South West Trains to Waterloo? I assume I can.
Also, can I break the journey up by jumping off one train, getting a few photos and then...
An excellent day out in London allowed my son and I to see lots of different buses including new 17 reg on route 2 and one of the new EvoSeti out on test.
Have a look at the photos if you get the chance.

Hi all.
I just need a bit of advice to help my wife plan a trip for work.
She will be travelling from Chesterfield - Middlesborough via Darlington on Monday 24th April. She needs to travel early so it looks as though she will be using the 06:15 from CHD to Darlington and then the 08:31 to...
My son and I are going to London in two weeks (Saturday 11/03) and we are trying to track down as many 313 / 315's as we can.
We were thinking of Harringay (GN) / Stratford (LO / XR) but can anyone suggest any other good locations to try and get as many photos as possible before they all...
Perhaps a strange request but I am arriving in London St Pancras at 7.30 on Saturday and wondered if anyone knows of an OK place to get a cheapish breakfast within walking distance.
Nothing fancy (I am thinking full English) but I would rather fill up early then pay tourist prices when I am...
I am hoping that someone can help out please.
My family and I (3 adults / 1 child) are travelling around London next weekend. We are staying in Ealing and intend to spend the day in central London before travelling out to Ealing in the evening. I was going to get Travelcards for us all but...
Merry Christmas one and all,
I have recently caught up with some of my photos so if you have chance please have a look.

Hi all.
There is a very slim chance of visiting Dawlish tomorrow on our way home from holiday. I have passed many times on the train but never been to photo trains. Can anyone give any advice as to the best locations and any ideas to keep my wife and daughter happy for an hour whilst my son...
I have been taking photos for years and have had a few photos published in the usual magazines. Now I want to see if it is worth moving on.
I have had a look at various peoples Smugmug / Zenfolio accounts and wonder if it is worth opening one. I do not expect to make a fortune and retire to...
I was lucky enough to have a week away in the Scottish Highlands based in Fort William over the summer. The weather was glorious for the main part and I managed to get a few photos, particularly of the 73's on the Caledonian Sleeper so if you get chance have a look at the album here:-...
Finally finished the train photos for the day. My son and I went to sample the 37's and 68's and had an excellent day around Norwich and Great Yarmouth. If you have chance have a look at the photos in this folder:-

Thanks...
Had the chance over the last few months for two days out with my son around the Northern network from our base in Chesterfield.
First up is a trip on the 19th March. We used the Northern vouchers to try the new 319's out around Liverpool and Manchester. Have a look at the photos here:-...
An excellent couple of hours here with the added bonus of a 56, some 37's and a pair of 50's.
If you have chance please take a look:-

Andy S :)
Not very good at writing so I am not going to have a go at writing a trip report.
However, thanks to the info gained on this website, me and my son had a very successful trip around East Anglia a few weeks ago.
I have finally managed to post most of the photos so if anyone is interested...
Looking for a little advice.
Next week (don't know which day yet) I and my son may need to travel from CHD to MCM. We have a F&F railcard and the cheapest I can find is an Off-Peak return via Leeds (or Man Pic) at £37.40.
My preference is to travel via Man Pic - Lancaster but I do not mind...
I have just booked some tickets for a day out and I see my first service of the day is due to call at Ilkeston (service 1Y03 on the 14th May).
I had not realised the station was ready to open. Is it?

This box has just appeared north of Chesterfield on the Down Main. Can anyone tell me what it is please?

Sorry, don't know how to put a little picture here!
Evening all,
I have a very simple query. My son and I are going to East Anglia in May to use a Anglia Plus One Day Ranger. My question is, can I buy this at any station in advance or do I need to get it when I get to Ely on the day?
Thanks in advance, Andy S :)
Thanks to the advent of programs like Real Time Trains we now have lots of info available when travelling the country. But how does it work?
On aircraft they have a transponder which basically sends information identifying a particular aircraft. I am into the aviation side of this big style so...
Evening all.
I have a nice simple enquire if anyone can help me.
I am looking to travel from Chesterfield - Chester in February with my 13 year old son. We are wanting to travel out via Manchester Piccadilly using the ATW Holyhead class 67 service and then back via Northwich / Stockport so...
