I have been watching various Video clips of rail journeys in Norway , particularly Bergan - Oslo line and wondered what flashing green signals mean. Can anyone enlighten me?
I still cannot get my head round the need to have coloured zones at New Street. All I want for to find my train , is to have a platform number and a clear indication of the route too it . I met up with my brother at New street and he is a not a train user , took about 20 mins to find each other...
I have claimed a number of times for out of pocket expenses for train delays, such as missing the last bus and needed to take a taxi , £20 instead of free bus pass. This is of course consequential loss rather than delay repay. They have never been declined.
I am definitely of the persuasion that I should not be required to provide any technical interface , such as phone, tablet, computer booking etc, to travel. Accepting I need to purchase a ticket at the earliest opportunity, as long as I have the means to pay for a ticket its up to the TOC to...
I was on a Hereford train from New Street that overshot the old Bromsgrove Station. Not sure if the whole train passed the end of the platform. After a short stop we reversed back to the platform and carried on without any more delay. It was dark and wet at the time.
Do the TOC's actually own the clothing or do they "lease" from one of the major suppliers . The workwear I had in the motor industry was leased & returned to the lease company. I suspect they sold it on themselves and a lot appeared at car boot sales etc sometime afterwards.
I used a TFW service on the Cambrian coast last week and customer told to use the centre doors to exit so that the area by the guards door and exit was kept clear for staff to distance
I purchased a TFW Ffestiniog round robin ticket valid from Shrewsbury and an anytime day return to get to & from Shrewsbury from Leominster . On the day of travel the signal staff at Hereford was taken ill just before my train was due , and all movement frozen until a replacement available ...
Had a good view of scenery around Dolgellau & Corris , but the other coach had to travel up to Dolgellau and back down the other bank of the Mawddach to Fairbourne, Tywyn Aberdyfi etc. Fairbourne from Barmouth by train is 8 mins, coach over 1/2 hour.
Must congratulate TFW for promptly suppling Rail Replacement Coachs to carry me ( and others ) from Barmouth to Machynlleth yesterday when the 14:545 was cancelled . Two coaches supplied , one straight to Machynlleth & the other via all the other intermediate stations . The first arrived in...
No Sunday bus service at all where I live. Only Monday to Friday and reduced on Saturday . Getting to a Rail Station even on weekdays without long waits , is not realistic on public transport , so car or taxi rules
Travelled on 08:48 GWR from Great Malvern last Saturday 19th with an advance anytime return to Reading . When I enquired , no seat bookings required or available on this Paddington service or the return at 18:19 . All the seats had showing green / available on them apart from some reserved for...
I wish the press would stop stating a train hit a car, the car hit the train would be in my view a more accurate statement if the video is to be believed. And the vehicle could well be about 2.5 tonnes unladen
I occasionally travel down to Alton to visit the Watercress Line from Hereford, via Reading (RDG) to catch the 09.20 down to Alton (AON). The route planners show a change of trains at North Camp and a walk to Ash Vale to catch the service to Alton . If I change the route to via Ash , the...
I went up to the same area yesterday , 10 months from taking some pictures and NR are still working on improving the drainage with new culverts and drainage pipes plus removal of vegetation.
